Free: I ordered 10, 3 ohm 1 watt resistors. Well, they sent me 10 packs of 10. The 3 ohm resistor at the LM317 in a DDL style driver, will regulate the driver at 420mA's. Which is a nice place to be for running an open can diode!
3 ohm.jpg

So, while my supply lasts, I am going to offer a free 3 ohm 1 watt resistor to anyone who buys a heatsink. All you have to do, is mention it when you order the heatsink...
Jay

aww man I need some, but no heatsink for now..

lol, I have some free components too, if anyone wants, I ordered 3 of every "part" for the DIY LPM, but as it turns out I ordered 3 lots of 10 of everything.... (except for the switch and the LTC1050)

I'll send you one with your heatsink! Just let me know when your ready.

SargeMX5, your heatsinks are done. I'll have them in the mail for you tomorrow! Please post back when you get them!

You buy two and I'll give you a 10 pack of resistors! I want one of those 100mW blu-ray diodes really bad...

Oh...What I mean by that is, I'm pushing the heatsink sales now. Because I really want to earn some extra money so I can justify spending another $350 bucks on a 4/6 X blu-ray writer drive. I want one of those diodes that drlava and Hemlock Mike have!

Re: F.S. ***MXDL Custom Machined Heatsinks***

Ok, fine, since you threw in something ELSE great with this, I'll take a heatsink for the DDL burning red MXDL mod, the RCR123A charger, and a 3ohm, 1watt resistor (a few, like three, if you can spare, but just one would be great for a Phazor diode, 420mA is what most seem to be recommending, like you say). I'm going out of town in the morning, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to complete the purchase while I'm gone, but trust me that I will complete it as soon as I can, whether it be while I'm out or when I get back late Sunday/early Monday. Just let me know the best way to get you paid up, I can use Paypal or Google Checkout. Thanks so much, can't wait to get everything put together, just have to wait on this, the Phazor diode, and then DealExtreme (I have a feeling that this, the custom part ttat's made to order and not stocked, will still somehow end up getting here first, crazy).

Thanks again.

PayPal to jayrob@inreach.com Please specify module choice as well. I must tell you that, to be fair, the charger is going to be 'first come, first serve'. So, if you want it, I hope you can send funds before you leave. Or, if it is still available, then it is yours. The total to the U.S., (with charger) would be $28 bucks. If not in the U.S. Then PM me your shipping address, and I will calculate the postage.

P.S. 3 X 3 ohm resistors...no problem, since you want the charger as well. But normally, I want to stick to just 1 free resistor per heatsink. We all hope that the Phazor diodes will be similar to the open cans. (I have two Phazor diodes ordered as well) Worst case scenario, you will just need to buy an open can, (not too expensive) which we already know runs good at 420mA's. (heatsinked)...

Yes, I am still making them! If you are in the U.S., just PayPal $23 bucks to jayrob@inreach.com and specify which host (red burner MXDL, or Blu-ray MXDL), and which module style. If not in the U.S., PM me your shipping address and I will check the postage.

steelybob, yours is done! I'm dropping it at the post office this morning. Let me know that it got to you...

amk, it was. Then one got lost in the mail. So I started shipping them with insurance. That way, both the buyer, and myself, are protected. You have one, so you know from the quality, that there is a fair amount of effort that goes into making each one. And once you have one, it will last a lifetime. So, an extra dollar for insurance is reasonable. I think anyway...

P.S. F.S. I am also selling two lasers complete. To help fund my next blu-ray burner project:

Hey all,
i just registered for the forum, however i've been lurking for a couple days now doing my research, and have my complete bill of materials ready to go order everything. I'll definitely be ordering one of these, and this post is so i can pm jayrob to get one.

Re: F.S. ***MXDL Custom Machined Heatsinks***

well, I must admit the heatsinks are worth every penny!! ;D

Im so jealous man, I want to make a 40mW blu, or even a 100mW with the 6x burners, but it pains me to spend 300 bucks on a drive that I will take apart, and Im not too good with extracting diodes either.....

good luck on the 6x man!!! Ill be going to Iran in a few months, and there are some stores selling lots of smuggled drives, for 1/10th of the price... LOL. I buy video games there, a game that costs $60 here costs $0.75 over there. NO I AM NOT KIDDING!!!!! I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THEY DO IT!!!

Ill check to see if they have some drives for sale, or some old red burners theyh want to get rid of....

Thanks amk! Hey that sounds like an interesting trip to say the least. You should write down the model number of that blu-ray drive that drlava and Hemlock Mike harvested! LG GGW-H20L...

geek, thanks for letting me know you got it. I was wondering if it made it out to the Islands.

TheMonk, just to let you know that I got yours done tonight...It will be in the mail tomorrow. Please post back and let everybody know how you like the quality. (plus, that way I'll know you got it)

Jayrob, I got the heatsink yesterday thanks.
According to your design the I.D. 15/32 or 11.9mm (the collimating module measured 11.90mm) mine measured 12.1mm just let you know. Other than that everything looks good.

Folks, this heatsink not only make your DIY project much easier and give it a professional look, enable you DIY Burner to run at a much higher power and extended its run time, highly recommended. [smiley=tekst-toppie.gif]

themonk, the module you sent me with my first open can was also a bit thicker. I just stuck it in from the bottom, I dont know how, but that worked. I also replaced the bottom of your module with an original aixiz bottom, and everything worked out. I dont know where you get your modules from, but they are thicker. the ones I got from senkat back in the dawn of time are the right size.

pics of your setup are needed!! ;D

amk
