Get well soon Senkat :'(

@jay: I am using rckstr's Micro aixiz driver at 38mA. Im gonna hook up my otehr blu-ray to one of my Plug n' play LM317t's, and push it to 45 or so, seeing what differences in power output I get.

SORRY FOR DOUBBLE POST BUT THIS IS AMAZING!

I am testing right now, the beast is putting out 20mW at 52.3mA!!!

I am afraid to push it more, but this thing is not showing any significant heat increase! THe blu's I got turned out to be tough diodes!!

Sounds like you got a good one there amk! Might want to back it down a little. Everybody says to keep the PS3's under 40mA's...

i donno, Its been running for 5mins straight, and its only fairly warm. I wont go any higher though, I dont want to kill this nice diode!!

when the next blu-ray GB comes around (although I think next round will be HD-DVD's) I will push one to death, and see how far it will go!

Show some pictures when you get it all buttoned up amk. Are you using the MXDL blu-ray host that I showed?

My first will be an open can.  It is what was quickly available.  It will be the "cheaper" experiment.  I'm sure that next will be a 6X Blu-Ray.  The MXDL host for it is already on the way.  Heck;  by the time I get this done the 6X diodes may be directly available or maybe even the 10X's may be out ;)  I guess my next step should be getting in touch with DDL about a driver.  I guess I should also get myself a soldering iron, eh?

Peace,
dave

Dave, thanks a million for the cool 'glow rocks'! Your free heatsink (Blue-AixiZ) will be in the mail for you tomorrow. I included a 50 ohm 12 turn pot in case you want to do the same blu-ray build that I did.
I still owe you man...
Thanks again,
Jay

I am very pleased that you are enjoying the rocks. If you are not careful, you will never see the light of day again [smiley=evil.gif]

You don't owe me anything (but I most certainly appreciate the new heatsink -- Thank you). I have been trading rocks and minerals for some time. My mindset with trading is that as soon as I place a rock (or whatever) in a shipping box it already belongs to the recipient.

Now that parts are beginning to come in, I'm getting excited about building my first laser :)

Peace,
dave

Your a good man Dave!
Building is the best. I've got a couple of awesome RPL's, which of course are my best lasers. But, I still favor the ones that I built myself. There's something about doing the complete build yourself.

r34p3rex, your 'Red-AixiZ' heatsink and 3 ohm resistor will be in the mail for you by tomorrow! Please let me know how you like it...

Thanks for letting me know the package arrived Dave. I hope your build goes well. I'll help you anyway I can...

Are these still being sold?

Yes, I am still making the heatsinks. At the beginning of this thread, there are important details to know. Module choice, which MXDL model and so forth...
