A very nice build kit if you want your build in a tiny chrome host! ;)

This thing is solid brass and chrome coated. Very heavy in your hand for it's size...

There is barely be enough room inside the pill for the new version 4 FlexDrive. (9mm X 12mm) As shown in the pictures, I had to trim the threads at the barrel back some to allow more room inside the pill at final assembly.

The build shown, is using a 6X diode set at 186mA's. Here is the power comparison with the two lenses:

* AixiZ acrylic - 175mW's.
* 405-G-1 glass lens - 224mW's! :D

Using my custom lens mod, I got a 28% increase for blu-ray vs AixiZ acrylic! (back opened) :)
405-G-1 glass lens mod: http://laserpointerforums.com/laser_pointer_forums_3/forum/showthread.php?t=22497

Here's the price breakdown and options:

* Micro Chrome basic kit - $45 plus shipping. This is includes the host/sleeve/and barrel shortened. (see my shipping policy below)

Then you can add these options if desired:

* 'Hot' option - $48 This option includes a FlexDrive pre-mounted with current set as desired, and lead wires soldered on.
* AixiZ module - $5 If you buy an AixiZ module with this kit, I will glue the sleeve on the module for you with Arctic silver thermal adhesive.
* 405-G-1 glass lens mod - $55 31% increase for blu-ray vs AixiZ acrylic! (new) See link in signature!
* 650-G-1 glass lens mod for red! (fit for AixiZ) - $52 25% increase for red vs AixiZ acrylic! (new) Shown here: http://laserpointerforums.com/f64/f...modification-fit-aixiz-25-increase-46332.html
* Micro Chrome EzFocus Adapter - $20 (see below)
* Shipping - $6
* Please read my shipping policy here!

This build uses a single 10440 battery. I am not offering the battery or charger as an option...

I must warn... This is a very tight build. If you are getting a kit, I will include an instruction sheet for assembly instructions and build tips! :) If you are just getting the 'basic kit', you must understand how to set current on a FlexDrive with a proper test load.

Thanks! :)

I must admit that it was leukoplast that brought my attention to this awesome host. Then it was my implementation for the build...

Very nice kit..

I'm a big fan of your builds

8-)

Re: FS: Micro Chrome Build Kit! FlexDrive 'Hot opt

Thanks! :) They are all DIY build kits, but the kits have options as well...

My 4171 or 3405 kits are easiest:

And my Pocket Mini (CR123) is very small, but not near as small in diameter as this one. It is easier than this Micro Chrome build:

Must see: My new 'Side Button' Kit!:

Then there is my DIY Green kit!

:)

Sometimes just a simple 'wow' is the best compliment...

Thanks!
Jay

Re: FS: Micro Chrome Build Kit! FlexDrive 'Hot opt

Why is the hot option only $3 more expensive? :-?

Re: FS: Micro Chrome Build Kit! FlexDrive 'Hot' op

I think it is $48 extra

Re: FS: Micro Chrome Build Kit! FlexDrive 'Hot' op

Yes, that is correct Rob, thanks!

I made some changes in the way the options are listed to make that less confusing...

Re: FS: Micro Chrome Build Kit! FlexDrive 'Hot' op

Oh...
And i got my hopes up, too :-[

Re: FS: Micro Chrome Build Kit! FlexDrive 'Hot' op

Well... with the basic kit plus 'hot' option and shipping, it is still under $100 dollars.

With the 'hot' option, most of the hard stuff is done, and all you need to do, is put your diode into an AixiZ module, glue on the sleeve, solder to my lead wires, and assemble it! 8-)

For a build of this quality, the price is reasonable...

Are you kidding?
It's VERY reasonable 8-)

I just thought we could get an expensive host and a flexdrive for $48! :P

Re: FS: Micro Chrome Build Kit! FlexDrive 'Hot' op

Coincidentally, that does work out to the price of the parts! ::)

FlexDrive shipped - $26
Host - $22

$48 bucks!

But then there are the modifications, custom sleeve, and work that I would do to transform it into the 'Micro Chrome' build kit with 'hot' option! ;)

PM returned...

As shown, there are some options for this kit, so just ask first or put in your Paypal comments what you are ordering. :)
