Re: FS: Kenometer $250

Ok so I've found some meters that FOR SURE will work. But they won't be blue. Green. I do apologize and anyone that wants blue I can install the isolator for. I don't want to have to spend that money unless I have to.

My gf is a shop-aholic... :D Its obviously not your case.

I seriously hesitate on what i should spend my Tax returns check..
LPM?? - Im sure jerry want me to.
LASER??
MORE LASER??
DX crap? - Lots of fun...
I could spend an hundred of two trying to make my own Bluray, il will get some experience in soldering. I had hard time with SMD LED (PSP Led Trigger Modding, psp broke)... & Getting the material to do such.

Those LPM problem look hard to deal with. I hope everything goes well.

Do you add led around your lpm to make them shine? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Does the Ken-o-meter features a backlight?
Run on 9V Battery like Laserbee?

Re: FS: Kenometer $250

well another option is I can wire the display directly to a 9v battery of it's own and do that. It means having to change the battery once every 6 months - year but that's it.

Ken,

in the 60's, electronic-equipment's displays were only available in green, in the late 70's & early 80's they tried an ugly orange-red, in the 80's, back to green and finally, the 90's saw the blue LED come of age  :)

I've got to have blue...  :p  ;D

However, I'm quite aware that it's not your fault that the distributor changed specs on you. So I am willing to foot the bill ($10, was it?) - but someone needs to assure me that this ah, "isolator" is not going to be the weak link in the chain...

last thing I need is a dead Kenometer just because Isolators are fickle (and I just had to insist on blue...  ::))
[/quote]

I don't care if it's hot pink as long as the kenometer works and can measure laser output power I'm happy. With such demands you should get a professional LPM.  ;) What's a couple thousand when you can have a blue LCD display? I agree, If the screen is not LCD it's just not worth it. Kenom better work on an LCD display before rangedunits changes his mind again and buys this instead for 2K Kenom's overpriced competitor

Im looking at Pros & Cons of Kenometer & Laserbee. Both are appealing...

Ken, are you still using this oldschool analog meter??? Reading must be hard and non-precise.

Re: FS: Kenometer $250

well it's bugging me I understand your humor and I'm the kind of person that tries to stick with things the same.  I honestly don't know if this "isolator" will work for sure or not. Here it is (http://www.lightobject.com/1205S-DC-DC-5V1W-Isolated-Power-Module-P87.aspx)

I do have a few blue diode numeral sets here that I'm sure I could swap out the green ones so that they are blue.  Nah, nevermind that I'm just going to request the displays in blue and as a customer they are damn well going to give me what I want.

Oh and I DO have a set of LCD displays but they suffer from the same problem  I HAVE to run them on a 9v battery.

The original seller is going to refund my money for the displays since they do not have the 2v ones and I'm going to go with http://www.lightobject.com/Search.aspx?k=2v+meter
The green one is the ONLY one that has the .001v resolution that I need.
http://www.lightobject.com/3-12-Digital-Green-LED-2V-Meter-5135-P192.aspx

These guys guarantee that they will share a common ground.

Looks fine, really. And it's LED too...!  Go for it, if you haven't done so  & let's forget about this isolator / separate DC source business  ;)

Heck, you can call it your Kenometer v1.2 so that when people sell them (at a higher price, of course  ;D) down the road they can differentiate between versions  :p

Re: FS: Kenometer $250

I agree with Traveller. It's no problem that the Kenometer runs on mains only. I like the Kenometer's simplicity. So, keep it simple. :)

Green is fine here, too.

Re: FS: Kenometer $250

Ok so I've ordered 3 of the green led's and paid for priority shipping and hopefully I'll have those finished and shipped by this weekend.
