Hey Ken... If you don't mind me answering that...

These Coherent Heads that are used to build the Kenometer
can be used up to 10 Watts...
The way the Kenometer is assembled it can read up to 2 Watts.

I would suggest that any beam up to 1 Watt not be smaller in
diameter than 1mm... and obviously a larger diameter with higher
powers... respecting this will assure a long and healthy senor life..

Correct me if I'm off target Ken...

Jerry,

I hate to go anal here  but would that be 1mm as "seen" against a white background, black background, with / without goggles...? Let's face it, 1mm on a white background is equivalent to about .2mm on black and .05 with goggles on...

"Hate me not, for I am but a humble noob"

with goggles on black would be the correct answer. You want to see a "true" representation of the dot, not spacular reflection that makes the dot look bigger than it really is.

Traveller says they attempted delivery... were you not home? tsk tsk tsk.... LOL

I just got mine today and the results have been interesting... All but one of my current lasers output was just about as claimed if not higher.

For one sadly it looks I was ripped off for what was supposed to 125 Nova Alpha green. It looks like one but the power reading was only 30mW. My own build so far is 5mW, this will be of greater use to me in the future as my skill increases.

I'm amazed how fast this shipped!

great job and thanks Kenom

Black + goggles, got it ;)

The first time I saw that "attempted delivery" notice is when Dave sent me my Dorcy Jrs & I freaked, thinking it was an indication of a false address (as in "return to sender", Elvis has left the building, etc)

But fortunately that wasn't the case :p and yeah, maybe they did try to deliver it today. Eventually they will give up & give me the opportunity to pick it up myself. This whole cat & mouse game lasts about three days, sigh...

But at least I'll have it by Friday, which is the first day I'll have time anyways. Tomorrow there's an office party, Wednesday I got my weekly Salsa lesson (hey, now that, unlike lasers, really works with the ladies ), Thursday's workout day... (I'm already tired just thinking about it all, lol :D)

As Ken would pobably agree... they are pretty close.. within a few mW of each other...
The LaserBee I LPM is calibrated against a recently calibrated Newport digital 1825-C
Laser Power Meter with a Newport 818T-10 Themopile Head...

Got my Kenometer. Very nice work. I'll need to use a marker on a little scratch on the thermopiles case, but otherwise no issues.

Got my Kenometer. It's awesome - got home and immediately tested all my lasers. Some of the results were surprising. I'll detail those elsewhere in the forum.

Kudos to Kenom for a well-built and easy-to-use product. Well worth the wait.

Ken,

don't send out anymore Kenometers with the 9V in place!!!

More on that later.

Sorry bud, it WAS secured when I shipped it. I promise. Apparently hot glue didn't hold it well enough. I apologize.
