No but OpenLPM is an open source program for lpm's. There is also the route of using boot camp, or (the way I do it) with VirtualBox

Hi,
Do I have to set my wavelength manualy or your program will find it and measure it ?
eg. if I use DPSS green laser without IR filter, will the program shows me 2 different wavelengths and their powers ?

btw. do you plan to produce HLPM II (Calibrated Hobbyist Laser Power Meter Sensor Module...) for more wavelengths ? eg. 300 to 1200 nm ?? It would be great....

Thank You

The LaserBee 2.5W USB uses a broadband Thermopile Sensor
that does not need to be corrected for different Laser wavelengths.

It will read the TOTAL power that falls on the Sensor's active area
surface.

The 200mW HLPM II has 11 pre-calculated common wavelength
corrections from 405nm to 1000nm.
We have no plans to change the design since it is a low power
Optical LPM.

Thanks. So LaserBee 2.5 W USB does not measure beam wavelenght, it measures "only" time and output power?

None of the LaserBee products we sell measure Wavelength or time...
The LaserBee products measure Laser Power...

Good job Lasersbee! I LOVE THIS THING! Got it thanks! :) Really cool and easy to use. Measured one of my lasers known to be 50 mw from prior power meter. Laserbee charted at 51 mw Max, and 48 mw Avg. Dead on!

Here is the graph from my 445.

Great to hear that your new LaserBee 2.5W USB is up and running.
Nice to see that it is up to specs...;)

Edited!
She took a while getting here but its a great LPM, be warned, 30 days to Hawaii, no joking.
The LPM didn't come with software on a CD, so if you order one, make sure to PM lasersbee for the software AHEAD of time, or you'll be staring at a very well made and great looking LPM for the night!

Long story short, this LPM is great, i'm going to drive my wife crazy tonight!

oh, and incoherent PMs to Lasersbee while he's sleeping cause you are up to late and to early because of work, NOT recommended.

can someone pm me over a copy of the eagleeye software and the driver, I just got my unit after a month of waiting, shipping to Hawaii from Canada takes longer then China, lol.
Anyway long story short, no software cd and no link to where to get the software from.
Someone could toss me over a copy i'd love to start playing with this thing.

I'm really confused...:undecided:

Was there a problem in contacting us for your LaserBee LPM needs...

When I have a problem with my car I contact my car dealer...
not my neighbors...

Perhaps you did not completely read the Info sheet we supplied
in the Shipping box. It clearly states how to obtain any info you
require and how to contact us... but you would need to read it.

BTW we sent you the info you requested early this morning since
you finally sent us a PM...

As to the long shipping time... we had told you that during the
Xmas Holiday Season that the shipping to HI could take an additional
2 weeks...

FYI.... when you posted that.... I had already been asleep for 5 hours...
Canada is just about on the other side of the Globe...

If there is anything else you need please don't hesitate to contact
me by PM.... But give me time to respond...

Quick Review from Sullivaf:

I got my Laser Bee a few weeks ago and have sucessfully tested over 17 lasers with it. Let me just say I LOVE MY LASER BEE. IT IS AWESOME!

But heres a little feedback about really low powers... Just FYI. Like I said I LOVE MY LASER BEE and would give it up for anything! Just so you know that :)

I built a 2mW HeNe gas laser and wanted to test the output with my new LPM. Below is a picture of the laser bee chart for it. Must be too low of power for it. Not so cool for 1 - 3mw. I was not moving the laser or touching the heatsink/sensor during the test and the beam brightness appeared to remain the same. This is the only con I have found with it. This is an honest review.

It worked great with my 20mw, 50 mw, and 100mw green, and my 300mw Red, and quite a few 1 - 2W blues. Its really nice to be able to test and send printouts of lasers for sale or ones that I have fixed for people.

Again. 1 Con not so great for 1 - 3 mw. Awesome for 20 - 2000mw. Thanks lasersbee for providing a cheap reliable product at a discounted price for this forum.

Laser Bee is a "Must Buy."

Nice honest review....;)

When testing very low powered lasers with this budget LPM
it is VERY important to:-

1) let the LaserBee 2.5W USB acclimate to the test area for
at least 30-60 minutes.

2) not touch the Thermopile Head's heatsink with your fingers
to adjust its location.

3) wait a good 60-90 seconds additional after the reading comes
back down to ZERO after doing a test session.

4) make sure that YOU do not move or are in line with the
sensors active sensing area while performing a test.
The sensor should not see your body's heat signature.

5) make sure that there are NO air currents at all in the test
area. (Fans.. heating/cooling system.. people walking by etc)

Try that for the 1-3mW Lasers and let us know if you get
better results.

With higher power Lasers I see you have no issues. That
indicates that you followed the User Instructions..;)

Ok. So your right! It does work on low powers. However I still have some bugs to Work out. Looking at everything you said the only thing I could find that I could have been wrong was this: The USB cord keeps the Laser Bee close (not too close for high power) so that the fan from the computer is circulating a very small amount of air. Thus cooling the laser bee sensor enough to make my 3 mw go away...

So I cut the end of a shoe box and placed the sensor in there. Attached is the NEW graph of my 2 - 3mW HeNe... Notice how the power graph is now steady and smooth. However, I see it now peaks at 6mW. I think this is because the shoe box is keeping in the heat too much...

So again, now I revise to NO con. Works great with low power. Just need to disconnect tower fans / block airflow, etc. Watch that airflow!

So LaserBee is for sure a MUST BUY!

Thanks Lasersbee for your help.

Here is a quick fix for the first problem... You could get a longer
one or use 2 to get you 26" or 52" extra reach..;)

There is nothing special about the LaserBee's USB cable. It can
be extended with a standard USB M-F extension...

I must have mentioned it at least 50 times in posts on the Forum
and in all the User Instructions. DO NOT mount the Thermopile
head into an enclosure...
I know you are just trying to reduce air currents but it is not
recommended by the Designer/Manufacturer...;)

At low power it does not take very much heat differential between
the Thermopile Sensor and Heatsink to get a reading. Once the
head is acclimated and at zero just place your hand within 2"-3"
from the sensor wait a bit and it will pick up the radiated heat from
your hand.
