Got my LPM in the mailbox today. Looks great! Now I just have to figure out how to make it talk with my laptop. I'm not very computer savvy :thinking:

Just need to read and follow the information supplied on the CD...

I got it working. The instructions are actually what confused me. The 2.5 user instructions say to follow the soft install instructions to install the interface. Those instructions were confusing me with the talk of installing the RS232 to USB converter cable Driver. I'm assuming that was for the data logging on other LB's. I ended up just following the 2.5 instructions, installed the interface, plugged in the usb, selected a comm, and it worked. It's easy to use now

I've been using this unit to good effect, but I suspect that I've been over-obsessing about what needs to be done between measurements.

I'd appreciate a tiny tutorial about exact the button-pushing protocol to do between measurements.

So, I take a measurement, and it is good.

Then, I have another laser in the queue, and I want to setup to measure it.

I hit the "Stop" button on the GUI.

Now, at this point there are three (3) relevant buttons: the GUI "Reset" button, the GUI "Start" button, and the physical "Red" button on the electronics box.

What is the correct, minimal button-pushing protocol to do between measurements?

the number jerry provides isnt a tracking number, its a confirmation number they have the package - there is no tracking on these is what i found out, after trying to use the number for tracking!!

^^^Well that's a bummer. I can't believe how slow canadian postal service is though. I ordered from meritline on monday, same day the lpm was shipped, and have the package today(from china). I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed. I'm sure it will be fine, but I'm never good with waiting.

have recieved about 5 packages from china in the meantime! .. sure its further ,, but not that much

^^^Yeah, if it was physically further I wouldn't be so impatient, but it's a 5 hour drive from where I am. I kind of figured it would take a week MAX.

To be fair I've never ordered anything from canada though.
