Mine arrived today :)

From it's first look (and feel) it's very nicely built. I got the knurled option, and it feels quite funny on your fingertips :D

I do have a query though - the black rubber ring (ehehehehe) on the inside, am I meant to take it out? I tried to put the glass lens I got off you in there, and it really feels like it won't fit - or it would break with the required force.

I also don't want to take the ring out until you say it's ok to, or I might break it.

That aside, I don't currently have my Kryton to try it on (being repaired), but I'll get back to you all (probably with pics) on how good I'm sure it is :p

Thanks again, Jayrob :)

Pro tip: buy his stuff, it's good quality.

Hi Adam,

The fit is tight inside the o-ring. You have to have it perfectly straight all the way around for it to 'press' in...

If you just touch the tip of your finger in some water, (I'm talking a very little amount) and wipe the top corner of the AixiZ focusing ring first, it will make it go on easier.

Just to mention it again, I'm talking about a very small 'smudge' of moisture. Not anything that could get on/or in the lens assembly...

Hi again,

Done it :D I lightly licked (lol yes you heard) the silver side of the lens holder, and using a flat surface to help, it slid right in there (hehehe). It's very tight in the adapter now :)

Jay

It fits like glove jay.
I my self love the silver on black look.
This makes adjusting jay's meredith glass lens so much better. and the gap needed to adjust is perfect.
Great machine work ! Now this laser is complete,it better be as the laser was just $54 and jayrob upgrades .. well let's just say "priceless" (Like about $90 priceless)

Here is a pic.

Oh man! That does fit on there nice!
That's just some good measuring from you man. As long as the measurements are accurate, then the finished product will work!

So I guess we now have the 'dilda' EzFocus adapter for the Meredith glass fit for AixiZ lens modification. (any other lens, and the EzFocus adapter would have a different gap between the back of the adapter and the front of the laser)

:cryyy:

now then, lessee... got some cheap Al tubing that may fit... maybe I can find a washer that fits around that... chuck it into my drill to 'turn' it down with sandpaper... :cryyy:

Ha ha! That would be a mini lathe! That's all I have, a mini lathe.

Not quite that mini though...

yeah, too mini I guess... not very efficient. I'd better mount a sanding disc on my table saw, and spin that while I use the drill to spin the work :D

Traveller, I am shipping your Kryton EzFocus Adapter and other items today. (Friday)

The EzFocus adapter fits tight, and you may need to moisten the AixiZ focus ring just a little and press it in evenly. See the included instruction sheet...

Let me know how you like it! :)

Jay, that fact that I currently use the Kryton in your highly-coveted Groovy Green format should be proof enough that I value both your machine work and Ken's host that I am actually future-proofing it ;)

You never know, that Groovy Green may some day become an 8X beastie in which case, my fingers will definitely be happy to have your EzFocus :D

Ahh... I see. You just want the Kryton EzFocus Adapter just in case you want to use your barrel for a blu-ray or red build in the future!

Can't blame you there!

I need this, Jay!

The lack of it is the only reason i have not assembled my Kryton yet!

Obviously i'd take it with the "knurled" option.. ;)

This is very exciting actually!! I need it badly.. :D

It is essential with a 405-G-1 lens, because you will burn your fingers bad!

Do you have the Kryton Groove? Or the 1st run smooth barrel...
