With the kaleidoscope tips on the front of the module should be sticking out .45 in or 11.43 mm for anyone who was wondering. Those equation are just where the normal module should go minus 1/8 of an inch.

Jayrob,

with this build kit does it have a focusable lens? if so can the glass lens mod be used with this?
Also is the only thing needed extra is the laser module ?

how do you order?

thank you
Doug

You need the module, and the battery.

The modules have a fixed focus. Just like 99% of all green builds.

You'll have to buy your own o-like module (links at first post), then you can house it in my kit. The assembly is really easy, and can be done in a matter of minutes...

The first post is a tutorial for the assembly.

Just PM me for payment of the kit! :)

Yes it will still fit fine...

The largest O.D. of the module is the same. You will just have to adjust the module position for the proper fit for the battery. The tail cap spring will most likely need to be shortened some as shown in the first post.

P.S. Be careful of over tightening the set screw that is in the threaded 'pill' of the host. This is strictly for making a positive contact point from the module to the host. And to hold the module in position.

But if you over tighten it, you can dent the module barrel in. Plus, as you will see, the set screw is in a very small area and some of the threads may even be exposed. (but it is serving it's purpose just fine)

I just bought a 150mW module anyway. Would have a better duty cycle. Plus it's not like I even need the most powerful module out there, this laser is just for random shining and fun. If I ever need brute force, I have an RPL for that :D

Yep, you'll reach for the much smaller host most of the time...

Just easier to carry in your pocket and stuff! :)

I've bought the DIY green with kaleidoscopic tip with a 80/100 mW O-like module. Matches will easily burn from some distant so the power must be good.

I made some (poor) pictures at a clear night with different kind of kaleidoscopic tips.
