Ok... I fixed that in the first post.

I'm changing all of my kits to a $6 dollar charge for shipping and handling. Stuff that is lighter like heatsinks only, or the Kryton deal where you just send me the barrel, will be less shipping, but Kits that include host and heatsink will be $6...

Thanks for looking!

A 50mW green is very bright in the night sky! Or in the dark... Not a burner, but very bright visually. You must use with care, it will damage the eye intsantly with a direct shot...

I just found a super wonderful thing at the post office. *It's a SMALL flat rate priority box. *As much as you can fit in it and ship for $4.95. *The box isn't very thick, so you'll want to make sure to package it securely, but it is big enough for me to easily fit 4 maybe five Kryton barrels in it. *Figured I'd let you know about it jay as shipping can be expensive even when your buying the box. *This provides the box free.

Do you also sell your IR filters? If so, please invoice me (google checkout: tv.th0ughts@gmail.com) for a set (not the cheap glass finish, the fully heat sinked one with a front piece), along with an IR filter (if it's under 3 bucks, as I've seen em for sale at that price on eBayOfPigs). If you don't sell the filters, or the price for them is 3+, please just invoice me with the price for the normal package.

Any idea on how long it would take for an o-like module to arrive if it is in stock? I'm hoping within 1-2 weeks.

I have a couple of these 10mm X 10mm from Nova. They cost me $10 dollars ea. plus shipping.
http://www.novalasers.com/NOVAstore/...p;idproduct=68

I have ordered from Susie several times. They are just a little better than DX. Figure a couple weeks. But it is their New Years Holiday right now. I think it is over Monday though.

PM me and verify whether you want the kit with host, or just the heatsink and front piece. There is the pill modification that needs to be done if you do not want the kit with host. It sounds like you want the kit with host, but I just want to make sure...

Just to let you and others know, the holiday was supposed to end the 30th of Jan. (Maybe 31'st, either way, it is finished)

I will be purchasing the items from you tomorrow when I have access to my PC rather than a cafe. You never know what wardrivers are trying to pull out of us with a little bit of wireshark.

Here's a couple of tips for this easy assembly: (and to answer your question about the battery)

* You will need a battery, and a 1.5mm Allen wrench for the set screw.
* You will need to cut the tail cap spring some. This is an easy thing to do. Then just re-shape the tip of the spring with some needle nose pliers. (see picture - first post)
* Battery orientation is case positive. (positive end towards tail cap)
* You can use either a 3.0 volt Lithium primary (CR123), or a 3.6 volt rechargeable battery. (RCR123) The 3.6 volt battery gives max power, but the 3.0 volt battery is recommended for a longer module life.

It is the same as using a an RCR123...

It's because of the length of the module Spyder...

The overall length of the host is 4 3/4". That's the tail cap switch and all. The module is about 2 1/2" long from the spring to the front of the brass case.
Jay

P.S. If you find a host that will fit an 18650 with a green module, watch out for the module over heating! At least that's what I found once with these modules.

Since I just purchased this from you, and it uses these batteries, I don't find this post far offtopic...

Can I charge:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.932
With:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4151 ?

I see posts saying that I can charge cr123's with it, but none about cr2's. Also I know almost nothing about batteries or charging them, I assume it should be an easy answer but I really don't know

The charger must be made for the specific rechargeable battery. Here is a CR2 charger:

This DIY Green Kit is not for CR2 though. It is for CR123 or RCR123...

Do you recommend any specific brand of CR123 or RCR123 batteries? The ones I found in Walgreens were EIGHT BUCKS, and that's for one battery!

About the batteries...

The CR123's can be very expensive at the local store, but you can get them for very cheap from a U.S. based distributor... here:
http://www.batteryjunction.com/energizer-cr123a.html
That's where I get them 12 at a time. With a 10 year shelf life, you can't go wrong!

That same place sells the rechargeable batteries and charger too:
Charger: http://www.batteryjunction.com/tlunlichfor1.html
Batteries: http://www.batteryjunction.com/uf16340.html

Of course, you can find similar batteries and chargers at DX for even cheaper!

For these green modules, you can use either a 3.0 volt Lithium primary (CR123), or a 3.6 volt rechargeable battery. (RCR123) The 3.6 volt battery gives max power, but the 3.0 volt battery is recommended for a longer module life...

Thanks for letting me know Dave.

What I really would enjoy seeing, is your comments after the build! Especially with the Pocket Mini build kits that you ordered! I would like to see comments from an experienced builder such as yourself!

ajcchase, your DIY Green Kit, Key Chain hosts, brass module tool, and dust caps will make to the Post Office before they close today! (Monday)

Please let me know when you get the package...
Jay

Jayrob, I'm disappointed in you. I was expecting this to be MUUUUUUCH HARDER TO DO!

I have almost never soldered before, but soldering the wire on the switch was so easy! The build is very solid and weighty. I had an issue with cutting the spring, it was quite strong. I had to get my wire cutters and SHARPEN THEM. Only then could I cut it. However, this is not your fault, just the manufacturers for making hard to break products, shame isn't it. This is such a fun and easy build, it's really simple to do the soldering, cutting, turning the screws, and then putting it together. I might get the pocket mini next for more of a challenge . Thanks for a wonderful build.

EDIT: Stand by for pictures, I'm just now getting my Nikon warmed up.

EDIT! I had another question actually, there seemed to be a brass ring (really tiny, about the size of the module) that came with the build. I didn't use it. What was this piece?
