Darkarmyofone, I am sending your custom adapter set up today. (Tuesday)

This is a really cool idea that you had...

To fit this cool little adjustable diffraction grating tip, to the DIY Green kit, so that you can put a higher power module through the adjustable diffraction grating. (kaleidoscope tip)

Note: You will just have to set the module about 1/8" closer to the tail cap, than the measurement that I show in the pictures. (first post) I recommend cutting the module spring about 1/8" shorter as well, and then do the final fit, by adjusting the length of the tail cap spring.

I wish I had one of these! Let me know where I can get one if you know, that way I can make one for myself! :D

Holy Crap JAY!! WOW!!!

That grating came off a cheap ass 5mW pen from DX or o-like i think. i'll get you the link.

but thats INCREDIBLE!!

Did you test it out with a high power module Jay?

I will post pics of the results when i get it! i wonder if a 200mW module would create multiple visible beams?

awsome, you need to make this an option! just sell the modified aperture peice, so they may switch between regular, and koliedoscopic on the fly.

^_^ awsome man, my customer is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy!

New option possibly jayrob? Can you explain this in more detail please? It looks like it didn't really require that much more modification to the kit. If Iget the 200mW O-like like I plan, than this would look awesome. Thanks.

Sure I could just offer an extra custom front piece that you could just switch out...

The thing is, you will either have to take the retaining ring off of the host, and unscrew the set screw to remove the kaleidoscope (which will leave a large aperture), Or just switch out the custom front piece with another one if you wanted to use your laser normally.

So if you wanted an extra one, fit for the kaleidoscope, then I can make you an extra one for $23 dollars...

But I would feel more comfortable if you send me the kaleidoscope piece to make sure it will fit properly.

Unless we can know that these will all be the same size...

Wow you are really flexible with these options, Darkarmyofone said there's a rumor that O-like might be coming out with a 250mW 12mm diode! That would be really easy to switch in with this host.

If the module is a little different in size, I'm sure I will be able to make some adjustments...

But most likely, it will just swap right out! :)

We need to find the cheapest koleidoscopic laser, and make it the standard jay. "I will stock the tips and sell them on Dark Lasers" and you can stock the custom swappable aperture peice.

So anyone with a DIY green kit already, can just buy your adapter, and a koleidoscopic laser from me, and have a hot swappable portable green laser show/ pointer!

This was SUCH a good idea, i cant believe i thought of that! but Jayrob made it happen ;)

I will hunt for the cheapest 5mW green with a koleidoscope tip, and i will buy 20 of them. and sell 10 whole lasers, and 10 of just the tips "i'll keep the tipless lasers for other projects"

That way, someone doesnt have to buy the whole laser if they dont want to. i could sell the tip for like 5-6 bucks.

And i'll keep you guys posted on the 250mW module. I'm not sure if its DIRECTLY from o-like though. I think she may carry them though, lets hope and prey they are the real deal, a descent size "small" and 12mm's

Awsomeness, what a great addon Jay, 200mW koleidoscope... I want to know if you can see the individual beams at that power. with 5mW it just makes dots on the wall and theres no beam. but take the tip off, and even 5mW shows a beam. so im assuming 200mw WOULD show allot of beams through the tip.

Any insight.experience on that when you played with it b4 you sent it Jay?

I'll find one for us, and buy them all so they will be in the USA. not china.

Well, I didn't try it in the dark. I should have...

I'll bet it will show multiple beams in the dark with that kind of power though. Probably even at 100mW's.

I like your idea about getting the kaleidoscope tips and stocking them in your site!

That will make it easy, if you have them on hand...
