I really want the 200mW module. If they don't get the module back in stock by September, I plan on ordering an Opto +150mW pen. Yeah I saw a couple of threads too and used the search bar but nothing is what I am looking for. I even searched "laser warning labels" on google and nothing good came up. They are all too big or are meant for a different color laser which would be OK, but I love the label you have on there.

I bought it new in 02', so it is old, but well taken care of and pretty tricked out...

The other good thing about the year, is that I get a green sticker! (not red)

I'm sure you heard of Stonyford right? It's all National Forest...

Lots of other places, but Stonyford has always been my favorite.

Hello, im new to lasers and I just had a few questions about your product. From what I have read to understand this is simply the main housing for all the internal parts. If so im not exactly sure what I should be acquiring for the laser to work.

150mW 405nm Blue-Violet Laser Diode Module with Driver - eBay (item 280381446219 end time Aug-11-09 21:56:27 PDT)

This is a module that already have the driver attached, is that all i would need past this point besides the power supply? If not do you recommened anywhere i should be looking for the other supplies. Thanks alot, this forum has helped me out alot so far. Hope to hear back soon.

The e-bay add says you need 8 - 15 volts supply for that driver...

So with this in mind, I would recommend either my 3405 host/heatsink combo kit shown here:

Or my Side button host/heatsink combo kit shown here:
http://laserpointerforums.com/laser_pointer_forums_3/forum/showthread.php?t=22607

Both of those Host/Heatsink kits use 3 X AAA batteries, so you would use 3 X 10440 batteries, which will give you a total of 12.6 volts at full charge.

Of the two hosts, I would say that the 3405 is a little 'roomier' inside. But if you remove the back 'barrel' section of the module (not needed with my heatsink), then it will be an easy build for either host...

Darkarmyofone, the delivery confirmation number says that Friday's package is in your town and out for delivery. So If you don't get it today, it will be tomorrow for sure...

Would it be possible to just glue or tape the push button down? The only problem that I can think of with doing that is the amount of heat coming off the module could interfere with the glue/tape. Feedback?

It may work temporarily, but would become a point of failure quickly...

It's best to solder a small by-pass wire as shown in my picture in the first post.

You can get a cheap solder iron for probably less than $20 bucks. I like 60/40 rosin core solder because it is easy and works well. .032 dia. is the stuff I have.

* First tin/or load the wire, then clean the tip and also load a little solder on it.
* Then, hold the pre-tinned wire to the solder point.
* It will only take a 1/2 second touch with the 'solder loaded' tip to make the connection. (touch both the tinned wire, and the solder point at the same time)

Hey, I was just wondering how the front piece stays connected to the positive contact/middle piece? I saw you said "with the final threaded ring" but I couldn't really see anything in the pictures.

I'm sorta new to lasers so forgive my ignorance lol. Thanks

The threaded piece that you see in my pictures in the first post, is the flashlight 'pill'. This is what normally holds the driver and emitter for a flashlight build...

In this case, it is drilled out and fit with a set screw to hold the green module. Then there is also a heatsink that fits to the back of the green module with another set screw.

The custom front piece is just to finish the build off with a nice look and small exit aperture. It does not actually connect to the pill...
