Re: FS: Complete Modules. !!SALE!! PHR $20 Shipped

Here's Igor's comments on using 2 X 3.6 volt batteries with a blu-ray/rkcstr set up:

Basically, it works, but the driver will very soon drop out of regulation, and the output power will drop lower and lower as the batteries drain...

that's what I was thinking..... when they drop even a little bit they become useless, even if they are 75% full.

My LPM just entered the US according to Canada tracking. When it gets here i'll set up a phr with 2x fully charges 3.6v CR2 and see how long they run before the power starts to drop.

Sweet I am doing a phr build with rckstr/2 cr2's and was wondering how long they will go before dropping out of regulation!

hey guys, I had flash of genius: what about 3x 10440 in a 3xAAA host? That would give you a steady 9v in your average cheap-o light! I think I have the perfect things, a "nebo" side clicky light with a compass, OR a cheap light that I can put on a gun with dovetail rings.

lol, not quite a flash of genius as many builds using that configuration, but yes it would work.

you are taking this too seriously lol. these modules work perfectly fine on 2x 3.6v lithiums

yeah lol I was being semi-sarcastic, it did occur to me but then I realized that I could not POSSIBLY be the first one to figure that out.... I'm considering one of jayrob's kits, but yeah its really not a big deal... How far below spec can one cell possible drop? anyway, I'm really excited to get it, how does the visibility of a blu-ray compare to that of a cheap red?

the 10440's have low capacity anyway, you still won't get much run time at full power.

Well if you get rechargeable ones and you don't run them for more then 20 minutes they'll last fine

Mohrenberg did a GGW in a Ehgemus host for me a while back, using 2 rcr123 cells. I don't have any issues with it what so ever. It does need to be recharged more often them my other GGW, that is being powered by a 18650 cell. But not so much that is a pain in the butt. I get about 20 minutes with it. Thats plenty of time for a laser. Remember, your going to want to follow some duty cycle. If you follow a 1 minute duty cycle thats 20 times, you get to play with it. Just buy some extra batteries and keep them charged and ready to go.

And the GGW uses 190-200mA while the PHR uses just 120mA....
Still waiting on my laserbee...then i can give a time frame of full power output on 2x lithium cells (cr2)

20 minutes with no power drop? Or 20 minutes until it does not lase?
