Let me ask you what lens you will be trying to fit in them? Because if it is a 405-G-1, they it won't fit unless then nut is drilled out and sized for the lens...

Nope. I have a project I am working on that needs the metal lens nut with acrylic lenses. And I have several different types of lenses here that I would like to try in it.

jbuaghb, I sent your 405-G-1 glass lens mod (and other items) today. (Wednesday)

I glued your Pocket Mini EzFocus adapter to the AixiZ focus ring since you ordered both. I also included an extra AixiZ focus ring in case you ever want to try the lens on a different build. (you can just unscrew the EzFocus adapter, and put the AixiZ focus ring on!

Those retaining rings are indeed annoying. I wasn't aware they had started gluing them, so I mangled two, despite using the right tool for the job (I thought, until I realized they were glued now). I use the lens nuts and collimator heads to precisely align magnets, among other things. And the spare lens elements from emptying them out always find uses, anyway.

Assuming you have a better idea than solvents, I would love to know what it is, jayrob.

It takes a little practice to learn the right amount of heat, but that's the trick... heat.

Any idea about the temperature? If it's in the <250C range, I can just set the controller to that. Above 250C, it's on to the stove or the torch, and I'm guessing one does not sub for the other.

Sounds like an improvement over xylene soaking, though. :O
