I just love this lens Jay! I don't have a 6X yet, but I have a PHR that is colse to 140 mW w/ acrilic and the glass lens gets it up to near 180 mW the beam at night is so much more intense, I was quite amazed! I sure hope the 6X's Igor is making me are here before long now. I better save for another lens and the great Kryton ajuster so I don't burn my fingers!

This lens is just insane, just checked it again at 217mw on a Coleman Max host PHR build. My next blu-ray will certainly be using this lens as well.

It's good to see this great feedback!

Glenn, when you get your 6X you will love it even more! It's nice on a PHR, but the increase is multiplied with the higher power you start with. I have one 6X that was at 215mW's (AixiZ acrylic back opened), and it is now at 268mW's. And my 8X went from 298mW's to 375mW's!:D

The 8X got a Pocket Mini EzFocus adapter installed, because at that power, it really does hurt when you accidentally get your fingers in the way!

WOW let me say that again WOW! I don't have a power meter yet but what I do have is a more powerfull 405 hand held. befor the 405-G-1 mod it would only affect black things, now I can write my name on the front page of the news paper, and well WOW.
I'm saving to buy a couple more of these !

Good One Bud !

:paypal: I absolutely cannot live without one any longer. I'll still be keeping the other lens for the tines when I MUST have a unblemished dot.

can't do the ez focus adapter though. With it anodized purple, i don't think it would look very good and i've got my focus tool that allows me to focus without my fingers even getting in the way.

Ok Ken, I'll have it in tomorrow's mail for you...

I thought you got an anodization kit?? You could probably anodize the EzFocus adapter to a 'close enough' color.;)

yah, I do have the kit but not the colors. that and I don't have the psu yet. Primarily it's more the $$ factor now. When I get a job, I'll buy a focus adapter and anodize it purple.

Lens upgrade

Jay,
I've been swamped at work so was just able to do the lens comparison. My IgorT 6x blu was putting out 176.1mW. With your lens swap, it now puts out 225.6mW (a way nicer beam and a 28.11% increase)! WELL worth the money. Here is a picture with the upgrade installed. My meter was unfortunately washed out by the long exposure; but it read 225.6mW. Thanks! Bill

lens swap

What has everyone been predominately doing as far as the spring? I found it easy to just do 1 1/2 wraps with teflon tape and no spring; (but I also have a lens now stuck in a romisen red that I will have to remove because I put a little too much teflon tape on). The blu without the spring seems to stay in the same focus position with just the tape. I don't use it to burn anything so a constant focus is great. Has everyone been shortening the spring with no bad effects? Thanks, Bill

About the spring, as I mention in my instruction sheet, it is optional. I use both the shortened spring and the Teflon, but yes, if you get the Teflon just right, you don't even need the spring!
Beautiful beam shot Bill! :gj:Thanks for posting back! :)

ryanwu, I'll have your 405-G-1 glass lens mod in tomorrow's mail as well as Ken's and Charlie's...

Thanks!

Excellent! Thanks for the quick shipping Jay.

As a laser noob... I might need some ideas about how to re-rate its output after the new lens. I don't want to hijack your sales thread though.
