first off, as everyone says, its a great build. so solid you wouldnt even believe it was custom made. ive been burning stuff left and right. up close (one foot or closer) it lights matches and burns paper instantly (you definitely dont want to put anything in its way once its focused). farthest ive tested burning paper (thermal) is 26 feet. i was wondering if it was hot at all at that length. the answer is yes, it will heat up your finger at 26 feet, lol. after about a minute it will light a match at that distance too. i dont have any balloons so havent tested that out.

igor, words cannot describe how awesome you are. thanks a lot, sir.
BATCH TWO?!?!?
Yeah, I was wondering about that as well, I didn't receive a batch two, I wonder if Igor moved that unit up to batch one??? I bet batch two in the USA is soon to be here though.  :-?

Igor said that a day/two ago that it was released from customs. :-?

Wait... what?  Are you sure you're a Batch #2?  It was my understanding that Batch #2A and #2B were shipped together in 1 single multipack to the USA.  It is also my understanding that you got your laser on Monday - which would mean it was shipped Saturday.  This was the day Glenn sent (via USPS) Batch #1 lasers out.  I'm fairly sure you were in Batch #1.

Batch #2 has not arrived in the USA yet (or if it has, it hasn't been posted in this thread by Glenn or Igor).
Nooooooooooo. :'(

Yes sir. This has been the process and the source of much confusion and frustration for many people. One thing gets said, and then days or weeks later we learn that what was said did not happen, or even come close to happening.

If any of the 'senior' members wonder why any of the 'freshman' members are freaking out - this says it all. :( To degrade the situation further, Igor will not return PMs, eMails, telegrams, stripper-grams, or even bottles floating in the ocean - save to a select group of people. I may or may not be one of them - I don't really know since I refuse to email and PM the $hit out of him, all to have him say what I already know... they were shipped, and will arrive when they arrive. :p

Wow, even I'm now doing a double-take on the numbers...  :-?

I mean, Igor sent out batch2 (the US-bound, no-batteries-necessary portion of batch 2) on Feb. 7th. And that with express delivery...   We are talking about over one month to ship something. Maybe the Maribor post office forgot to put an "Airmail / Par Avion" sticker on the package...  ;)

Hell, I even got my 1600Kg Mustang GT shipped - by boat - across the Atlantic - from Miami to Vienna (AT) in less time
(...and I $hit thee not).

Heck, even the 2nd multipack (the US-bound, batteries-requested portion) went out presumably on Feb. 17th. FWIW, That's the same time (& only time) he mentioned anything about the final batch 2 portion (non-US-bound, like mine, Guastafeste, Zavor, etc...  :p)

That's amazing, really, when one thinks about the fact that Igor managed to assemble over 23 lasers (and that's batch two only, not to mention the 14 from batch one...) in less time then it takes to have them shipped...

:-?   :'(

Speaking of numbers though, I doubt there is any other DIYer INSANE ENOUGH to attempt to to assemble 23+14 lasers, not to mention the 8 from pending batch 3 and - as if that wasn't crazy enough - 11 more to settle [friendly] debts to fellow DIYers who provided assistance in the past...

that's right, 2009's tally (thus far) is...

drum roll please...

56 lasers.

Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays

I finally decided to contact Igor today... the last time I inquired about shipping was Feb 12th, almost a month ago... so I didn't feel like I was bothering him to shoot him a quick email today.  My email was a simple 1-liner, "Wanted to check in with you quickly - I saw Glenn mentioned he hadn't received Batch #2 in the USA yet.  Did customs snatch the package or something?"

Thankfully he replied right away...

"Hey!

Everything seems to be working again. If you have not received an
email from me yesterday or the day before, i will re-send or answer
today after work...

Igor"

You can't contact him on email. If you want to talk to him, use his buisiness mail.

Anyway, when was batch one sent ? Igor said he sent my laser the second

I can vouch for Igor's quality ;)
If you are looking for a great laser, that is small, yet powerful, then just buy it!!!
Make sure to pick up the 6x version ;)

Six were already registered, max was eight (paraphrased from a couple of Igor's own posts in this thread).
