If it's on 5 jobs it's not called moonlighting, it's called working your ass off.

When do you sleep?

Peace,

The price is $185 at the moment (pre-order price)... Not sure about later. Could go up a bit. I do hope i can get the parts as cheap as people from the US soon, so i can keep a good price (custom fees and taxes are killing me at the moment).

The first six are taken already.. The second six would seem to be filling up as well.

Re: FS: >70mW Blu-Rays, two models... Any interest

Guys, if anyone wants me to include a battery with your laser, please tell me now. I really hope there are no potential problems with sending Li-Ions through Air-Mail.. I heard somewhere you're not supposed to do that.

That is why i would prefer if you ordered from DX. It would hurt to lose a laser because of including a battery with it. I don't know what the potential problems are..

Otherwise, i suggest you order a pack of two batteries and a charger from DX. They have free shipping on everything, and a pack of two batteries costs $5.85 (blue protected) or $6.9 (gray protected). The charger is around $12..

I posted the links to the batteries and chargers in the second post in this thread. I would recommend the smaller charger that can charge AA and AAA size Li-Ions, and definitely protected batteries.

The gray ones look cooler with the gray mini laser.. ;)

Here are the links again:

- Blue protected TrustFire $5.85: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3435
- Gray protected UltraFire $6.90: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6240
- AA and AAA size Li-Ion charger: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.973

These are what i recommend for use in this laser. LaserGuy: You are going to need this charger for the AAA size Li-Ions (red laser) as well.

If you already have a Li-Ion charger for larger batteries, you can just use spacers. People usually use the magnets from DX..

I could put a free battery into the laser, if you wish, and put a sticker over the contacts, so the customs officials couldn't turn it on.. This way you could use it immediately after you get it, in case the shipping from DX takes longer. You would just have to remove the sticker on the contact in the head.

Also, please keep the included lens protection cap on at all times, when not in use. Dust or scratches will cause an ugly pattern around the beam and cost you a few mW of power..

Ok, i'm just letting people know, so there won't be any unpleasant surprises, and then two weeks waiting time.

If anyone else wants me to, i can still include a fully charged battery, just in case the ones from DX and the charger don't come in time...

BTW: I figured you'd be getting the gray batteries for the gray laser... ;)

Re: FS: >70mW Blu-Rays, two models... Any interest

Ok... I did mention it at the start of the thread, but i thought it would be better to repeat it, just in case..

WickedAlex for example is from Luxemburg, and he can not order ANYTHING from outside EU, unless it has a CE sticker. The customs confiscate it, and actually destroy it! They don't even bother returning it to sender!

So in his case, i ordered the charger and batteries for him, and since i'm from EU as well, sending it to him will be no problem (no customs between us).

I would just like everyone to confirm if they got the batteries sorted out or if i should include one.

Otherwise, these batteries from DX are very good, have a low price for a pack of two (it's good to have two, so one is always ready, and you can charge one while using the other). In fact, i was just buying some Ni-MHs today, and a pack of two AA Ni-MHs in Slovenia, costs more than a pack of two AA sized Li-Ions together with the charger from DX!

Re: FS: >70mW Blu-Rays, two models... Any interest

BTW, if anyone is interested:

Since i want to use the money from these lasers mostly on buying more diodes (for backup and potential repairs), i would be willing to trade a laser against a suitable number of diodes, partially harvested in their heatsinks...

But they have to be harvested in a way that makes sure they are not dead:
- solder the legs together above the PCB on the underside
- break the white glue (don't drop it!)
- cut the cable
- put some tape over the window
- safely package in a baggie

If someone is willing to trade, just let me know.

Harvested diodes would have a better chance to go through customs unmolested, and i might not have to pay fees and taxes on them, if declared as something with a low value.. I'm currently paying WAY too much for these diodes ($60), so this would actually be better than money.

It's just a general proposal. There is no rush. I have enough on the way to last at least a while...

Didn't know you already found a source tho..
