Re: FS: >90mW Blu-Rays, two models: OPEN

Well, the important thing is, that all three have safelly arrived.. The disguise worked flawlessly! ;)

Anyway, glad you like it. Now go burn some stuff.. But put some glasses on first.. :D

Sunglasses have a UV filter, so they block 405nm and protect you.. They do not block the fluorescence however, so burning white paper is hard without real protection goggles.. On the other hand, sunglasses make seeing fluorescence easier, in cases where not all of the 405nm light is converted and you would see a mixture otherwise.

I have some protection goggles from Wicked, and the ones made for green lasers work great for Blu Rays too. And they also block the bright blue fluorescence from white paper.. That makes burning paper real easy..... ;)

Re: FS: >90mW Blu-Rays, two models: OPEN

Hey, Hugh, how did the package survive the shipment? Did the envelope come to you all "chewed", like the ones from DX? The ones i get from DX are so distorted, that i tried to put as many bubbles between the laser and the outside world as possible, without making the package too big.. :)

Oh, and was it inspected or just passed? Was it opened and taped shut again?

*checks Stan's envelope*

Yeah, they opened and re-taped it. They usually put a little slip in saying they inspected it though....

Your handwriting is as bad as mine Igor =P Are you used to writing in slovenski jezik?

Re: FS: >90mW Blu-Rays, two models: OPEN

Haha! So they opened it, and yet it was ok... Cool!

About the writing.. Which one? The one inside or the one on the package?
I took my time when writing addresses on the packages.. Inside, i wrote in a hurry, cos the post office was closing... :D
And i tried to make it look like a personal package - a gift or something..  ::)

;)

I'm just happy, that all three came through safe and unmollested!  :)

All this talk of glasses, and I haven't heard anything of NOVA's glasses. I have a pair of their glasses and they work great for blu-rays! I'm not sure what their OD or VLT values are, but I'm pretty sure that on their website it says they are rated for violet, too. They are bright orange!

Re: FS: >90mW Blu-Rays, two models: OPEN

Those should work as well.. All glasses for green lasers should work, even orange ones. Cheap yellow shooting glasses also work. But the reason i'm talking about sunglasses is because everyone has them, and they have a UV filter.

They don't block fluorescence, but 405nm light is blocked almost completelly. A direct hit can still leave an after image, but when i measure the power through sunglasses, it is under 1mW.

I know! It's great! Ima bait some laser noobs on YouTube by saying in the comments:

"This is my new 100mW blu-ray laser burning things. It's pretty dangerous but don't worry I had my sunglasses on 8)"

Bwahahaha.

Your postal service is on strike? Seriously?

Otherwise, just the EU and Australia packages have arrived so far.

I was told they would arrive to Australia in 4-6 days.. They took 8. But there were two weekends in between, so.... Maybe it's actually correct.
I'm going to the post office again today, so i'll ask for shipping times to Brazil and let you know.

WorkTrace shows yours as "Past due" to arrive in BRRIOE on 1st of July.. Maybe the "past due" has something to do with the strike?

Re: FS: >90mW Blu-Rays, two models: OPEN

I did a quick search for the flight in which the package is and I think it's going to Frankfurt, then it flies to here,as it already left Slovenia I don't think they will include further information on the tracking system.
About the transit time, don't bother asking, here it's never constant, sometimes 2 weeks, sometimes 1 month,it depends on how long the customs keep the package, and with the postal service strike I think it's likely to arrive in only 1 month after the shipping date :(

Re: FS: >90mW Blu-Rays, two models: OPEN

lol I had to check what country you were in for a second!

Mine said it arrived in New York on the 4th of July. So far, it hasn't made all the way down to Texas, yet :(

I'm going to go check the little tracking thing now
