Re: FS: >80mW Blu-Rays, two models: GONE!

Will you ship out the first batch today?

It must be killing you to live in a country with that harsh customs. The customs in my country (Sweden) are not at all that bad: I have got five lasers shipped to me, and all of them safely made it through the customs. :)

Re: FS: >80mW Blu-Rays, two models: GONE!

They are not harsh, just strict at following the rules... They don't want to guess a value to charge customs on, they want to charge exactly.
This is why they demand proof for every price, in the form of a credit card statement... And unfortunately, one of the rules is, that you can only import stuff for personal use. So once when i imported a dozen cheap sunglasses, they didn't want to release them, saying, that i either have to prove, my family has 12 members, or they will treat it as if it's meant for selling...

I'll definitely finish today. The post office is open until 10 in the evening. But if i end up working longer than that, it's gonna have to be tomorrow morning. In any case, you'll get it this week. I'll send everyone the tracking numbers as i get them.

Back to work...

I can ship out the second batch as soon as i get the custom heatsinks for them.. They were shipped from the US over a week ago with EMS express, so they should come any day now.

I am waiting for the notice from the customs, that i can bring them my liver and a lung for the custom fees and taxes, at the moment.. Hmm, i wonder if they have to be MY liver and lung?
Here it would be the liver and a lung of all family members

Yeah, i remember.. I will include an "invoice" with your package.

To everyone: I just got some batteries, and glow in the dark lens caps for our lazor... ;)
They are better, than the black ones, because you can accidentally leave a laser on with a black one. A GITD lens cap glows if the laser is on. It's quite interesting to see actually.. The fluorescence is amazing!

And if you shine a laser on them for a short time, they go from glow in the dark to glow in the day... :)
405nm charges them up really fast!

I'll be putting the GITD caps on the laser, to make it look like a stupid toy.
And if anyone is still without batteries, please let me know ASAP and BEFORE i ship your laser.

I got my batteries and the batteries for my MXDL from DX today. But of course: only half the order was shipped! I have no chargers for them. :( But they will probably arrive in a couple of days.
I will also have to get an adapter as well, the chargers does not fit in Sweden, they are made for another system.

Oh man.. Check the charger, if it says 100-220V on it.. They usually do. In that case, you only need the mechanical adapter..

I didn't think of this.. I should have included it on the list.... I need to order some adapters as well..
Here is the link to the mechanical adapter: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3529

Re: FS: >80mW Blu-Rays, two models: GONE!

It would seem, that these diodes can survive much higher currents, than i thought at the beginning. And not necessarily with a shorter life time at that!

These diodes are almost comparable in power to 16x DVD diodes! It's incredible. Never thought we would have this much 405nm power so fast!

Dave asked me to drive his pen at "only" 125mA (around 100mW after a clear acrylic)..
He has a laser with the same diode, he is driving at 177mA and it's doing 147mW after a glass Meredith lens!

If anyone else wants me to change the current, let me know ASAP... ;)

I would just like the current on wich you still give a warranty . .
what current is that?

Re: FS: >80mW Blu-Rays, two models: GONE!

Oh... too bad that you already shipped my laser :( But it will probably still be at >100mw, and I could always send it back to you after a while for you to modify it. :)

How can it survive that high current? that's really screwy!
If this diode can have that much power, a 6x BR would definitley be able to reach 200mw, if not much more!

It's really strange how quick the development is. Just some months ago, 100mw BR builds were VERY rare, and was selling at >400 dollars. Now there are tons of deals on hi power BR:s here, and many are selling for <200 dollars!

Re: FS: >80mW Blu-Rays, two models: GONE!

Mike's and Wannaburn's 6x diodes are already reaching >200mW.. At around 200mA i think.. And that is after a plastic lens.

Imagine what that would do with a Meredith lens or the custom lens! The Meredith makes an increase of 30%, so that would be 260mW!

Re: FS: >80mW Blu-Rays, two models: GONE!

In one year, it will probably look like this in the buy, sell and trade sub-forum:

"FS: 250mw 6x blu-ray, asking 100 shipped"
:D

Re: FS: >80mW Blu-Rays, two models: GONE!

Maybe if someone want's to get rid of it, to buy a 10x.. ;)

But those will be monsters! I can't believe that these diodes can do CW at their pulsed ratings!
