How much would be shipping to Brazil for the gray one?

Registered Priority AirMail is $9.7 or so for all countries. I will ask how long it would actually take tho.

Can't wait for the night to make some pics!

Re: FS: >80mW Blu-Rays, two models: $185

Why do you think i'm gonna make them? ;) Don't know if the pictures will show this freaky effect properly tho. Might need to make a video...

There is a very cheap possibility to do this effect BTW. I just hope i get more of these lenses soon, so i can include them...
But they increase your chances of hitting your eye, so...

Oh, and a friend told me about this interesting effect 405nm lasers have on sunlight sensitive glasses (that get darker in the sun).

You can actually draw on them with this laser! The glass becomes almost black immediately after the beam passes through them. You can see the spot on the other side getting dimmer. When i first did it, i became worried i ruined the glasses, but they go back to normal in a few minutes.. :)

You can pass the beam over them quickly, and it still leaves a nasty looking line.

I'm posting this video of IgorT's behalf.

In the viodeo you're seeing a pair of transition glasses and the diode is from is a ps3 (~10mw). Just imagine >80mw!

Thank you FML! That is what i meant... Phenol told me about this yesterday, and when i first tried it i thought i ruined my glasses.. :)

You made a nice video. Thank you for posting it.. I didn't have much time to make it myself...
But it's dark here so i made the "Liquid Sky" pictures, and they came out great! Unfortunately my camera doesn't capture the real ghostly color of a Blu Ray. It's actually much more amazing to see it in person.

I just need to resize them and i'll post them. EDIT: Here's one...

And another one... I wish my camera would capture the strange color better.. Maybe i should try a better camera.

I'll try to get more of these lenses soon, so that i can include them... I should really make a video of this.

Thanks! :)

There is only a hint of the true color in them. I'll try with my other camera when i have some time.

FML: I tried with a collimated 84mW beam just now, and then with uncollimated, and most of it disappeared, but the thin lines are still there.

Maybe the power density was too high.. It could do real damage after a certain power i guess.

Yeah it might, I don't dare to lase at one spot, I remeber that I did that for maybe 10 seconds with the beam collimated to infinity and the spot remained for over 30 minutes! :(

Re: FS: >80mW Blu-Rays, two models: $185

I think i might have damaged mine.. There are still thin lines, not going away. I guess it was too much power.. An uncollimated beam is not dangerous tho.
Luckily i don't use my glasses...

BTW, did you try to paint them completelly? :)

;D Yes, I have tried that. But ones I made it from one side to the other, the fist side is clear and it fades into dark on the other. I'm too slow. ::)

I like to draw smileys on them tho; :)

BTW, awesome pics!

Re: FS: >80mW Blu-Rays, two models: $185

Yeah.. BTW, my glasses have still not recovered from the collimated 84mW beam.. And there is a dark spot, where i held an uncollimated beam for 10 seconds...

Uncollimated and fast is ok, but collimated, the power density is too high, and the coating gets damaged, i guess.

UV light causes changes in the coating, also the more the coating reacts, the more power it absorbs.
Too much, and the changes can become permanent....

Re: FS: >80mW Blu-Rays, two models: $185

*sigh*

I'm sorry to hear that, I feel bad now. It truly makes sense about as they get dark, they absorb the enegy which in it's turn burn the lens/coating. :(

So in other words: Do NOT try this at these power levels!

Re: FS: >80mW Blu-Rays, two models: $185

Why should you feel bad? :) I did it, not you... Besides, i hate these glasses and i don't use them anyway.

BTW, the hair thin lines would seem to be slowly fading.. And the big spot from 10 second of a fat beam as well..
It's possible, that they will return to normal by the evening (24 hours, imagine that!).. But some damage was probably done, even if it will be invisible in the end.

EDIT: The hair thin lines have disappeared almost completely. I can only see them if i'm looking for them, and just barely. The big fat spot is still there..
I'm guessing it will fade eventually as well.

Definitely not recommended at this power level.
