I believe you were going for a joke about .357 caliber magnum handguns I frequently use to shoot my hosts.

You got the number wrong a bit, see the calibers are denoted as fraction of one inch, so ".357" is 0.357 inches in diameter, or in Metric, 9,06 milimeters. Not to be confused with standard 9x19mm parabellum rounds.

See here for more info:
.357 Magnum - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
9×19mm Parabellum - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Overlooking that, it was a good joke. :na:

Perhaps I should add an additional service to my shop?
Have your host shot with:
7,62x25mm Tokarev: $2
9x19 mm parabellum: $1.50
.357 Magnum: $5

Own a unique host! Choose the caliber of the round used to shoot a very nice, strategically placed yet aesthetically pleasing bigass hole in your host!

Note: If you choose two shots through your host, I will ran it over with my car for free!

I am definitely interested in a phobos. I want to see what sinners magicstickv2 is going to be about first, though.

Yep I havent built my Phobos either just been playing with it again tonight to see what I can do.. I know a round driver wont work with mine unless I drill out the heatsink 16mm x 8mm and then there is the long spring needed I got one from a grey guidesman that was used to connect the + I was going to use a large slurpee straw or electrical tape to keep the long spring from shorting out on the sides of the battery compartment or something like that. I didnt get a clicky switch with mine but I had just baught 10 from DX and they seem to fit ok. All in all the Pobos is really nice but you need to be carefull building it. I'll make a post once I get it all figured out.

Really? What do you mean, it got scratched really bad?

Sure I can send out a replacement, just seems weird that the focusing head would be destroyed in transport. I mean, it's aluminium, not plastic.

If he's not saying it in public forum, neither will I.

Anyway, yeah I can make and ship parts of Phobos host, they're not pre-made and on stock, whenever somebody needs one I make it.

So I can make individual parts at no greater cost or loss of material than it would be the case if it was a custom ordered heatsink.

Thanks, just let me know how much a replacement will cost, i don't get paid for 7 more days but will order it as soon as I do.

No more than $10 I'd say, even though it's wider, it's relatively simple to make.

But something tells me nobody will ever use the 3xAA holder.

Haha not true ;) I used 2 x AW IMR 14500's with a spacer in my build! Here if youre interested: +2.5 W Saik
They actually do really well and run the beast for quite a while...:D I would have preferred the single battery option, but only had a Moh linear at 1.8A!

Having said all that, its still not as sexy as my phoboses! :eg:

Hmm, you are drawing quite a lot of current from those poor 14500's, but seeing they're top of the line quality, I guess they hold out quite well.

I'm amazed at the power level, 2.5 Watts on 14500 batteries, I would never have guessed.

If you're looking to replace the linear driver, you can use these:
18V 5W Cree Circuit Board for Flashlights (16.8mm*5.5mm) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

Solder one 1 ohm resistor in parallel to existing R200 one, and you've got 1.75 Amps output, and since it's a switching driver, you'd going to draw less current from your batteries, at aroudn 1 Amp I think, for same output.

They can actually discharge at 5 A! It isn't a problem anyhow, as I measured the tail cap current and it was only 1.75 A, but at 8.2 V.:)

Cool thanks for the tip! I wont replace this one, because I was actually trying to make a high power build and its all sealed with arctic silver! I was aiming for 2.2W + and was quite happy with the result. Ill definitely consider the driver for a red mits 500 I was thinking of building and any subsequent blues I build. Would be a lot more convenient and by the sounds of it much more efficient. Any idea of the current stability?

That 1.8A mogasm linear rocks. Never seen the 2.5W+ out of a m140 b4 though.. nice job.

Say did you get your C2 yet Euda??
