reginak and Jaxz your meters are on there way
Thanks again

Meter received on 16 Nov 2010.

Everything looks okay.

Tested it on my newly bought Spartan 1W laser. Ran it for 1 minute Point Blank infront of the OHIR sensor:
Max Output: 1.1w
Peak Output: 1.2w

Power of my Spartan stays constant 1.1w for 30secs.

At the distance of 1meter:
Max Output: 900mW
Peak Output: 1W

Overall a good overspec Spartan Laser.

Tested it with my Wickedlasers Core series 5mw, that I bought more than a year ago. Using Energisers AAA's Lithium. Been using the same Energiser Lithium AAA's for more than a year. Total usage of my Core Series probably less than 1hr:
Max Output: 6mW
Min Output: 5mW

I am happy I got a very good laser from Wicked even though the laser pen is more than 1 year old with a 1 year old battery.

For my Spartan, still not up to my expectations to burn what I wanted to burn, but overall at least I am happy that I got a quality laser from Dragonlasers.

The red display I requested is very visible even though I am wearing my OD+7 goggles from Laserglow. The readings are very clear even with a OD7 goggles. I am happy that I chose Red.

The adpater is universal, I don't have to use a converter to convert the voltage. (Singapore is using 240v 60Hz) The only thing is that the pins are not suitable for our wall plug, but that can be easily rectified because I have a plug converter into our Singapore Standard pins.

Some rusting noted on the fasteners, but it's a small issue for me. I can change it myself.

LPM is very light and very small, and cute. Very simple to operate, very user friendly.

Overall I am happy to get this OHIR LPM from nospin, 9/10. At least I know the quality of my Spartan. I will be getting a slightly more powerful 445nm, probably in a month time. I will test my new powerful burner with my nospin when it arrives.

My personaly feedback on nospin LPM. Kudos

Got mine also, It should be here earlier but the customs here were trying to figure out what the heck was this thing. ;)

Anyway, loved it, its is very well made and very easy to operate, turn it on and point the laser to ophir head. It has no logging whatsoever but I really don't care since wasn't what I was looking for. Anyway, the LPM seems very solid.

Will make a better review with pics when I have time.

About the transaction itself, nospin wasn't the fastest or the best comunication I had in this forum (and jeez, I buy a lot here) but it worked and I received a very nice LPM. +rep for him.

Cheers

I hope your supply of these keeps up ... I gotta get one, but with other, ahem, recent commitments (before I found this post, or you'd have come in first), the discretionary funds are committed for the moemnt.

jayrob's review should be linked on your sig!

Thank you for the great build!

nospin: Would you be interested in an upgrade suggestion? Not sure the idea is worth a discount :san:, but it seems like a helpful option would be to use an RGB 7-segment-display, such as this or this. Not sure how much they'd cost in low quantity (those links are for min qty 1,000), but it'd be worth it to be able to add a simple 3-way-toggle (red, green, or blue) to fit whatever glasses you are currently wearing.

Hopefully, by the time I scrounge up the $ for the meter, there could be a 3-color-option for those with multiple colors and glasses, who'd be eternally grateful. :worthy:

Sadness -- probably means you'll be out before I can order anyway :(

On the other hand, if I get the $ freed up, I'll see about modding yours with RGB 7segs myself ... :)

Nospin, I just checked our avatar and saw the starwars book! Glad to see someone else likes to read the starwars books also! And I want an lpm but I definitely won't have funds for 2-3 weeks. Do you think you will have any around this time?
