He purchased a used argon from me and for some reason it broke after an hour of his use (if you want to read up on the few pages of responses that developed as a result of this go here: http://laserpointerforums.com/f63/bad-experience-swimminsurfer256-69138.html).

Basic overview: I didn't offer any refunds/returns and was selling it just as a person selling a used personal item (as opposed to a business selling an item). I ran it once a month for usually 10-20 minutes (longest test was a little over 30 minutes) and never had a single problem with it.

Needless to say, it broke and zdarkazn demanded his money back. Since I didn't offer any refunds/returns and it didn't arrive DOA I refused. So he filed a dispute via PP and started the thread above. Eventually I went and offered a partial refund if he returned the item but zdarkazn refused.

The PP dispute was ruled in my favor since the item was clearly not SNAD and more than likely damaged by misuse than anything else.
Following his loss of the PP dispute, he is now in the process of trying to get his money back via chargeback, which PP is fighting for me.

So personally, I would recommend not selling anything to him unless you were ready to offer full returns/exchanges/refunds in the first place.

It seems that some people want something for nothing.
Kudos to you Swim' for even making an offer to him to recoup some of his losses.
But from the thread you can see that his attitude was one of entitlement.
All or nothing...and now he gets nothing. That was his choice. Too bad for you both.

A valid warning to be aware of.

Paypal will lock his account forever if he succeeds with a credit card chargeback.

Sorry to hear of this.. :(
I have bought stuff from zdarkazn and not had a problem, but I suppose selling to him may be a different ballgame.
Good Luck!

What a douche bag. He sure is going hard with this for someone who goes around bragging to the whole forum that he's not poor.

^If you have funds in your account when it gets "locked"... they will release the funds after 6 months (even if they don't reopen it).

SRESAL is correct, after 180 days paypal will let you transfer the money to a bank account.

BUT if you did a chargeback via credit card, they will be going after you for the money.
