Well .. I got scammed by scarletwolf031. I wanted to buy a Survival Laser from him for $140, so I messaged him, and we sorted out the payment via PayPal. He was showing very good help, and he was answering all my questions well. And then, another member of the forum messaged me telling me he is still offering him the Survival Laser and the other member told me that scarletwolf031 said my PayPal was fake or something of the sort. And I messaged the seller about this, but he told me he's trying to create trouble, I decided to believe him. He told me that it'd come by a certain date, and it hadn't arrived. And just when I was going to ask him where it was, another member told me that he also payed for the same laser. So, I decided to file a dispute on PayPal. 5 minutes after I filed the dispute, he messaged me asking why I did this. I told him about the people telling me that they've payed for/are being offered the same laser I payed for. He told me that the other person had no posts and can't be trusted. He also claimed to have told UPS to hold the parcel until I close the dispute. He managed to convince me he sent it. Now, I know it was very stupid of me to believe him and close the dispute, but I did. After 2 weeks, it still hasn't arrived and he hasn't replied to any of the 5+ messages I sent to him. I'm trying to get my bank to compensate for fraud, but I doubt I'll actually get my hard earned money back. :(

Man thats sad. Never close a dispute till you have the product in hand. If they try to get you to close the dispute, tell them you'll escalate it to a claim if they dont produce the product.

Sorry man. :undecided:

Even though you closed the dispute, you could try and 'call' paypal rather than
email.

Tell them that you closed the dispute because the seller insisted your package
was on its way. etc etc...

Paypal can still help you.. They have a 1800- # under the 'contact us' tab
where you have to get a 'phone code' and then call the number.

Explain the situation, and see what happens. They can still pull money
from the seller and give it to you if they see what has happened.

For 150$ its worth the 20min phone call

Good luck

they have been given copys of all shipping paper work and you can request it from them as it was faxed to them when you first filed your dispute.

have a nice day

and tell the story rigth i told you to close it or put in a claim, as i was willing to fax paypal my paper work but they advised there was no claim in yet. i gave you the choice to close it or file it as a claim and that if the dispute remained open well the item was in transit i would contact the shipper and have the item pulled and retruned to sender if posible

Did you send the buyer the tracking #? UPS is notorious for breaking things
but they are pretty good with the tracking like fedex (so far knock on wood)

Using 'package intercept' costs extra $$. Never used it, but watch for extra
fees.. Thats one thing UPS always gets right, the billing.. granted its in their
favor that is :D

Paypal.. Need a 'web pin' first on their contact page..

i used a paypal shipping lable and it should all be updated using paypal, i kept my recpt for the shipping and due to the fact the buyer ie OP, filed a dispute right at the time i told him the item was sent made me not want to talk to him any longer as i filed him as a scamer, as you can see by the feed back i left him right when he disputed i put feed back on this forum about it.

I have asked paypal to look over my paper work and they advised me today that if a dispute was filed and updated to a claim i would win because i showed that the item was sent , paypal has it on file now and advised that the Buyer Can get this info by request..

the fact that this OP Made such a post on these forums without first contacting me about it, and expected the item to arrive wtihin a day from canada makes me not want to deal with him,,

so i'll leave this thread like this, If this OP feels i have scamed him he can contact his Local Law Inforcment and file a Complant, plz pm me the Police Report Number and the Officer you file with this way i can contact the officer about the issue, as it is a crime in anywhere to take someone's money and lie to them

other then that i'm done with this issue, if UPS advise's that the item was not delivered you'll get a refound, if they advised it was delievered then contact paypal and have them deal with it. cause you have pushed this way too fare by calling me a scamer i'm done with you.

Peace.

This is the very reason it's a good idea to use a middle man and it would only cost about $6.00 more for the extra shipping.

I have been in the middle befor and will do it again to help the members :D

This sounds strange, how long could UPS take to ship something from Canada to USA?

Is there really time enough to file disputes, holding back packages, faxing paperwork, etc. ?
Or do you need some days between payment and shipment to manage it?

I would think that there would be a simple way to contact
you as you seem to be a seller.. (you did sell something)

There is no way to contact you in your LPF Profile...
I can understand not accepting E-Mails but to disable PMs
I find very strange for a seller on LPF...

Non communication from any Seller when I buy something
quickly raises the Scammer Flag for me...

EDIT
I just found the small TAB to send you PMS...
My mistake for not seeing it...:yabbem:

If this is false the OP just needs to be patient for a while and wait for his laser.

If this is true: You fell for the oldest one in the book. Learn from it and don't fall for it again.

my pms are not disabled. anyone can pm me from waht i know i get pm's from other members of these forums,

as for how long dose ups take, in my city you do not drop off the package at ups it gets picked up from your house within 24-72 hrs from notfiing them of the package to be sent. then it still has to enter the place outside of canada and usa and other countery's have deff custeums it can take time.

ontop of that the item was going to the UK not the USA

^^^ I just found the tab to send him a PM...
It doesn't look at all like the [Contact Info] tab in my
Profile that I was looking for in his...

I'm not saying that he is a scammer... just that non communication
raises a flag with me...

When I call to have a package shipped by UPS or FedEx or Purolator.
they are here the next day... and I live in the sticks..
When I need it shipped today... I'll drive to a UPS depot and drop it
off.

Unless you are shipping by Ground.... Packages should get there in
a few days... UPS even has ETA times on packages that I receive
when checking the tracking number.

I see, that is plenty of time for some buyers to get impatient and do regrettable things.

It still looks a bit odd to try to get someone to close a paypal dispute with a package on the way, the signature for it would be a great way to settle it.

And where is the laser now?
It have been two weeks+, right?
