Default Resolution: Jayrob and Plexus

Jayrob contacted me about the issues I was having and asked for clarification around what my expectations were. I truly appreciated this.

To make a long story short we exchanged a bunch of emails and dug through everything that happened. We both agreed we had mutual misunderstanding and were able to come to terms about it. on top of that, without me asking or even expecting it, jayrob refunded me for the driver. now, let it be known that i accept responsibility for killing that driver and i wanted to give it back to jayrob but he said keep it for my trouble. wow.

I forwarded him back half of it ($13) because it was the right thing to do. i feel that i jumped the gun too quickly when the driver died and i didn't communicate as well as i could have about it to jayrob so for that i apologize to him.

Apology accepted...

It takes a big person to step forward and apologize for something like this. Especially with all of the bickering and even insults that have been said.

I can learn a lesson on better customer service from this experience. I should have let you vent, and I am guilty of perhaps not giving better communication when needed.

This was a combination of misunderstandings on both parts, and I will admit that I get busy and should have given more attention to listening and communicating. Better communication would have gone a long way in the early stages...

There were things that we talked about, but maybe were forgotten, and needed to be talked about some more.

And I should have not been as 'short' in my first response. (right or wrong)

Because even if I feel I already covered something. Or what ever the case may be, I still would like to keep a customer happy.

So I take a lesson from this experience.

And I apologize for not communicating better, and letting this get to the point of an unhappy customer.

I have to apologize in advance to many customers that are waiting on orders from me.

I try to give as accurate as possible estimates for the time frame of the wait. But it's not always easy to estimate that far in advance. Most of you guys are waiting over 3 weeks for your orders. I'm getting to you!

There is a large demand because of the availability of the 445 diodes...

Thanks to everybody for their patience...

Once again plexus, I'm sorry that I let this get to the point of an unsatisfied customer no matter who's fault it was.

And props to you for stepping up and posting an apology...

I don't know what f%cked up planet you come from, but please go back.

Duche kills the driver himself, admits to it, and thinks he makes it better for paying for half.

I don't know what happened here, but if Jayrob is pleased with the outcome, then that's all that matters. Sometimes justice is very objective, and circumstantial.

It might not look like the perfect resolution to some, but if both parties are happy, then something was accomplished!

Props to Plexus for stepping forward like this. Doing so takes some b@ll$.

Props to Jay for looking out for the satisfaction of the customer! We could all name a few laser manufacturers that could learn a thing or two from him. Way to take a hit, even though it may have been for the better of the customer, and not for yourself!

Default Re: Resolution: Jayrob and Plexus

Looks like your giving jayrob his credit back, now that you got what you wanted.
Not that your one negative review would really do jayrob any damage.

What about flaminpyro?
You bashed his name in the same two complaint threads with jayrob.
Your issue was you wanted a replacement driver from jayrob, and a new diode from flaminpyro.

With flaminpyro you tried to make it look like that the diode was defective once you assembled his kit. Yet you failed to mention that you had this same diode lasing for one full hour before you assembled his kit.

With all your trouble with the driver, and you using that stupid lasorb. plus all the different times you soldered and unsoldered the diode. You don't think anything could have happened on your end. Especially after all that trouble you had with just assembling jayrobs kit??

If something happened on your end, it's really unfair of you to hold him accountable. Especially bash his name in two threads.

Quote from flaminpyro in a now closed thread
Flaminpyro vs Jayrob SH-032 SS Build (image heavy)

Quote:
flaminpyro
I was almost ready to replace his 445 diode but then he told me (and I have him PM to post if anyone is interested) that he had the 445 diode lasing for about one hour befor it die'd so if he had it working for that long it was not dead when he recieved it !
Now he has come on here complaning that it was dead from the begining, I think he needs to get his story stright befor he starts asking for replacements.
I have replaced LD's befor and even twice for one member in the same host (don't lase me bro), so don't think I won't replace diodes if I think that is the right thing to do !
Now let me state this here and now, I will replace diodes that I think are bad but I will not replace diodes that some one blows up and and just wants a new diode for free, I don't play that game, I do spend a lot of my life time trying to help members that need it as I was once in that place of needing help myself, but I will not be run over and taken advantage of by someone who has never done this befor and thinks I owe them something because they bought something from me.
hell he dosn't even understand that a shorting clip will prevent static damage, and when I asked him what kind of static precautions he took when handeling his 445 diode he stated he had a soldering iron that was static grounded and a wrist strap but he never stated he used a grounded work surface, so I know he understands about static so what was that statment about shorting bars only protect the diodes leads that was a pretty stupid statment !
and as far as making a profit from what I do every penney and then some goes right back into laser parts or materials so I can help any one out there that needs it ! I do not take any funds away from this I never go out and have a good dinner with my funds or buy parts for my quad, every penny goes back into laser parts
Your not a new member, you also seem to know what your talking about most of the time. That is why this is such a surprise coming from you. The way you bashed both jayrob and flaminpyro like that. For something that sure seems like you own fault.

The 445 diode was soldered twice. once to afix the lasorb and twice to the driver leads however most of the heat was applied to lasorb leads. it was desoldered a third time to remove it after it died and replace it with a 405 which has been working great in the same host/driver arrangement.

Please make an attempt not to misquote me, thanks.

Default Re: Resolution: Jayrob and Plexus

This jackass broke the stuff himself. He knew he did it (he admits it here) and he thought he could get all his mistakes fixed for free by trying to tarnish Jay and Pyro's reputation.

When that retarded plan backfired he got all pissy and started deleting posts that he though were helpful to the forum. (we all knew the Arctic goggles were shit before you Plexus, deleting that thread did nothing but make you look like the whiny baby you are.)

I'm disappointed that Jay caved to this jerk's demands, You had the support of the whole forum Jay, why would you let this guy hold you up like that?

This is going to be a sad day for LPF if this scammer is allowed to stay, and thats what this all was. A scam to try to compensate his ignorance, refunding HALF of something you do not deserve makes nothing better so don't act like you are the good guy by doing so,

Am I the only one outraged by this? This is ridiculous! This guy ADMITS that it was HIS FAULT now after attempting to destroy Jay and Pyro's rep, after claiming that it was Jay's host design's fault.

This is beyond fail, this is straight up extortion.

Well said...

Without blaming anybody, it's a resolution none the less...

When I sell a 'Hot' option, the driver is installed and tested. In this case I just sold a bare driver. (I don't normally do this, because I need my stock for my 'Hot' option kits)

If I do sell a bare driver, I don't take responsibility for such an item that is easy to damage. But perhaps I did not make this policy clear enough.

So this is why I decided to send the refund for the driver...

I did not address the diode dispute at all during our conversation. As it is a separate issue that was not between him and I...

He wanted the driver to be replaced from the beginning and he admits he broke it. Then he has the balls to say "for my trouble?"

Even if you didn't explain the details of selling the driver individually he openly admitted that it was his own fault that it broke. Up to this point he said it was your fault because your host was poorly designed. Now all the sudden he gets what he wants and it's his fault?

Am I the only one seeing this?

This whiny little runt has done nothing but cause trouble for the last week. At this point it's not about the money. It's about what this is, and that is extortion which just so happens to be illegal.

IMNHO this was a mistake, Jay.

This was pure extortion by a person unwilling or unable to accept responsibility for his own ineptitude.

You paid "hush money."

Default Re: Resolution: Jayrob and Plexus

I don't blame jayrob he has a 1000% perfect score on LPF He is just maintaining his record at all costs.
Plexus the scammer ruined his diode and driver and knew that if he blamed both Jay and Jeff that one or both would give him new stuff.

Plexus says he only wanted support from jeff and jay and not free items.
Well they both tried to help him figure out what went wrong with his builds they all came to a conclusion. Only jay went above and beyond the call of duty and sacrificed something at a loss.

Now he clears Jays name, but leaves flaminpyro's name soiled in his other threads.
Jeff did help plexus with after sales help in trying to figure out what went wrong. It was clear to jeff that plexus destroyed the diode.

So plexus you claim you only wanted support from jeff. Well he gave it to you, what more do you want a free diode

Well, he made a substantial size order for his SS 18650 kit. He got the copper heatsink, copper module, 405-G-1, EzFocus adapter, etc...

The mistake I made, was with the bare driver sale. And also a little communication gap...

I've been really busy with the demand for kits. And I already feel bad for making people wait so long.

I think that I could have been more helpful when he first contacted me with the problem. But I just figured it's not my fault. So I just basically ignored the complaint, and proceeded to explain some methods of assembly.

This is where I think I can take a lesson from all of this. I think I should have communicated more at this point. Keeping a customer happy is important to me. I do get a lot of return customers.

So I failed to keep him as a return customer...

All things considered, I made the decision on my own to refund the $26 bucks.

After I did that, he told me that he was going to refund the $26 bucks back to me. And then I told him to go ahead and keep it. (because I am guilty of the above mentioned points) That's when he sent back half...

'Hush money'... yes that was part of my thinking of course. But also the other points I mentioned...

When people decide to DIY many never consider the little recognized RIY factor.
If you decide to Do it Yourself you are assuming the responsibility of the skill, attention, equipment, materials needed and so on for Risking it Yourself to successfully complete the task you didn't want to pay for pre-built. Some simply appreciate the self satisfaction.
