Well, I picked up my package from edwinpang at the Post Office today.
I opened it in the presence of the postmaster.
The two lasers were actually in there! I powered them up and they worked.
I went home.

First thing, I put them on the LPM.

I was told that the Pulsar 650nm was 125mw. It was 65mw. :(
Eh, it's ok. I was kinda expecting that because after all, it is from WL.

Then came the "350mw" firedragon which he said "everyone is getting over 400mw with these"
My result.............36mw!  :( :cryyy:

Damn. I got burnt. *sigh*

Oh well. Live and learn, I guess.

I hope the others that purchased from him had better luck.

I was the one who bought the survival laser. He said he shipped, however my tracking number doesn't work. It has only been 10 days, but I havn't received it yet. If and when I do receive it I have no way to measure the power. We'll see what happens, but based on this thread my hopes are not high.

So I got home tonight and the package was in the mail. Should I open it tonight or wait and go open it at the post office tomorrow?

Is there someone with a LPM in your area...
If so.. they could perhaps meter it for you...

I'll have to post a thread to see if anyone around me has an LPM. I opened the package today and I think it seems as if everything is legit. This is my first laser, but all of the components look the same as the ones on the survival laser website and it burns fast, not sure if that means all the power is there though. Is it possible that the diode and or driver was swapped out? I took some pics maybe one of you vets could take a look and see what you think.

That appears to be a legit survival laser.
I'm happy to see that your laser turned out good.
I doubt he would of swapped out the driver for another one.

Well that's good news, i thought for sure it was going to be gutted and replaced with crap. I'm a bit confused about what he was trying to pull, selling some legit stuff and other junk.

He PMed a whole bunch of people, vets mostly, offering lasers for review, at a discount.

Prior to this he also opened a thread offering to sell lasers.

Problem is, it quickly became apparent he didn't actually have anything on hand, and just wanted money in order to start a business. Or just to run off with it (more likely).

He was not able to show any kind of proof that he had inventory in stock, and blatantly used products from other companies as examples of what he would "sell".

Whole thing seemed fishy, and frankly his pricing was out of line.

I mean who in their right mind would buy an overpriced laser for "review" and with a non existent discount, from a total unknown, when the same laser can be had from a reputable company for the same, or less?

ahh, I gotcha, yeah that's not cool. I'm going to have to be more careful about who buy from and sell to, I have a tendency to be too trusting. I guess it's because I would never think of trying to screw someone. I bought this laser mainly for pest control in my aquarium, but I must say I can see how this would turn into a full blown hobby. I just went outside to point some stars and this thing is cool. Won't be long until I convince myself I need another one lol.

It varies... but I think for most people here, myself included, once you see a beam of coherent light slice through the night sky... you're hooked.

Could have been worse.
Should have been better.
He is just a kid, if we never hear from him again it will be too soon, just my two cents.
