Ive read this and the ban arenared thread , you guys screwed over the other guy and was VERY nice to this guy. and this guy said i dont care what you label me.

Im very much into karma.. and I believe in killing people with kindness.
im just a new guy and i am very interested in building my first laser. i would like to read about that and not some of the hipocritical posts ive read so far.

some people wanted me to elaborate on posts that i said were very cold and members comments. read the above and they will prove themselves.

As you said you are "just a new guy"....
and I know that this is only your opinion... and we all know the value
of an opinion...

The difference is that "potatorage" has been a non disruptive member
of this Forum since he got here.
IIRC... this is the first time he screwed up (made a mistake in judgment)
and made it right with the buyer...
On the other hand... "arenared" has been nothing but a $hit disturber
and general PITA since he got here..
He has been banned a few times and has NOT changed his ways...

Perhaps as a new member... You should do a little research on all
the posts of these 2 members... to get an idea of their past behaviour..
BEFORE you label us Hypocrites...

I can definitely see where you guys are coming from on this and I do agree with it.
Laser_Ben , I highly doubt that you meant that as a good thing, I still do not see why you give me a negative reputation just for that.
You guys throw negative rep around like candy and I didnt know disagreeing with you guys would make me look this bad.

Ok, here's the deal. I can't speak for Ben, but my issue is that you're so new here and I've seen a few posts of yours in a few threads lately in which you throw out some untactful opinions, shall we say.

Opinions are something everyone has and are entitled to have, so i don't have an issue with that, but don't come here and try and lecture the senior members on how we conduct things here.

This forum is self moderated, so it's up to the members to moderate. Lately, there has been some less-than-stellar individuals coming around, and my fuse is growing short. I feel that if we're going to self-moderate, then let's self-moderate. Speaking only for myself, if I see any new members acting stupid in any way, I'm going to say something about it. I don't need another new member chiming in telling me I'm acting like an asshole. YES!! I acted like an asshole to arenared and I meant to. I even stated my opinion about the potatorage thing, even though I don't think of potatorage as being nearly the problem that arenared was. In each case the people being confronted had acted in ways that put them in the wrong. So I was an asshole.

I overreacted to your opinions, like I said they were the straw that broke the camel's back, and I'm always willing to give a second chance, so I hope you wan't take everything I said to heart. Negative rep can't be removed that I know of, so I can't take it back, but if you contribute here and are a productive member it won't be long until it fades into oblivion.

Don't feel obligated to lurk and not take part in discussions here. You can't contribute if that's all you do.

Everyone is different. People react to different occurrences differently. My advice to you is don't take everything people say so seriously.. in life you meet TONS of assholes. If you let them all piss you off too much, you'll have a miserable life. The same applies here, even more so since it's the internet. We all might overreact once in awhile, as I did with you, but you've got to take it with a grain of salt. A good rule of thumb is not to allow anyone on the internet to really get to you. Easier said than done, I know, but you can't let a few assholes get in the way of your own good time.. You think we're assholes, check out some other forums.. we're saints, believe me. As senior members, the moderation of this forum falls on our shoulders more than anyone else's, so we can be the biggest "assholes" of all, but usually with reason.
