So a little while back I got kind of bored with my 445nm Ehgemus....

It worked fine. Put out about 1.5W with a g1 lens. It just wasn't doing enough for me anymore though.

So I sent it to Angelos for some tough love and care, asked him to polish and upgrade it.

I got the laser back... and WOW. Opening it... it's now a near MIRROR finish. I feel awful just touching it without putting on gloves  Already managed to get the finish a little messed up in a couple of spots :banghead: I really wish aluminum was more resilient.

I haven't had the change to LPM it until tonight though.

This is where I think my jaw actually dropped.

The formerly 1.5W laser, that I expected to maybe get 1.8W from... 2.3W :worthy:

I'll get some pictures up over the weekend. For now I just wanted to share my jaw-dropping excitement:D

I wasn't sure if I should start YET ANOTHER thread saying how great Lazeerer is.

I decided that I would just add my $.02 here

I recently had him do some work for me as well.
He performed well above my hopes
Not only did he polish an old Kryton Smooth to a mirror polish,
He designed and fabricated a focus ring for it that flows with the lines of the Smooth VERY well

I'll see if my meager photography skillz can do justice to his fine work.
If it works out, I'll post an update ;)

+533 ;)

Peace,
dave

--UPDATE--

Here is the complete Kryton Smooth with Lazeerer's polish job
You can see some of my fingerprints on it :/

Here is the original front end of the Smooth barrel

Here is the focus ring that he designed for it
Focusing these was always a problem
Not with this one :D

See there, Dave set an example for all of us. Even polished lasers need love. After all, the process of polishing it doesn't mean it should be a trailer queen.
