PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FOLLOWING HAS BEEN RESOLVED.

Basically, I ordered and paid for two of his 445nm diodes and two glass lenses on 8/26/2010. I was promptly shipped two 445nm diodes and one glass lens.

On 9/12/2010 I sent a quick PM to let him know the situtation and he basically told me his records show that I got everything I ordered. Since this was not the case I asked him to check again. On 9/14/2010 he told me he would be dropping my missing lens in the mail. On 10/6/2010 Still no lens had been received so I sent an email asking if he was planning to send the lens or if I was being written off. His response:
i take it this means you did not recive the lens i sent you?
All requests for tracking numbers or additional information regarding his intentions have been met with total silence despite clearly being online. Its seeming more and more obvious that I am being given the run around.

Anyway, I just wanted the general community to know that these transactions really are AT YOUR OWN RISK when there is no system of accountability and potentially shady sellers.

BEWARE guys, luckily I am only out a $15 lens!

He is a buisy guy, you are not the center of his universe much less his business... Give it time, he is trying. Plus he is a vet here where YOU are a noob... Who do you think we will be more inclined to believe?

^^I don't agree with the idea of anyone other that Kiyoukan saying that DLMB.. Just because someone is a vet doesn't mean it's a good idea to start dismissing complaints just based on that fact. I agree that Kiyoukan has been a stand-up guy so far, but just being a vet doesn't put one above making an error or even doing something dishonest.. nor does it give someone the right to avoid confronting the issue.

Nice. As I am no stranger to web forums, I figured that this might be the response I would get (but hoped otherwise). I signed up here specifically to order from him, thus my low post count. Unfortunately for me its apparently OK to rip off a newbie. Good to know...

I hope everyone who reads this keeps in mind that he is too "buisy" for good customer service.

Excuse me for thinking that a month was enough time to resolve his shipping error.

Based on even more than this one thread, I would posit that Kiyoukan got in a bit over his head with the diode sales.

It often happens with "new businesses."

Hopefully he learned and will take care of ALL of his customers.

It's easy to become overwhelmed. You just have to be careful and plan accordingly.

Maybe he ran out of the glass lenses and is waiting for his shipment.

I remember during Kiyoukan's first 445nm diode sale he had to increase the price of the diodes to cover costs. That was fine, but when I requested another invoice for the difference he would simply not respond to multiple PMs. Kiyoukan did, however, quickly respond to my request to cancel the order.

Now that I think about it, it was nearly my exact experience with Wicked Lasers and that Arctic order I thankfully canceled. Not drawing any direct parallels between Kiyoukan and WL, but as far as customer service it could be better for both.

In the end, I got my money back and no hard feelings, but I think Kiyoukan could do better in the customer service/communication department. People are willing to cut you a lot of slack if you are up front with your responses and delays, but hate being blatantly ignored.

That was the reason I canceled my order with WL, I could never get a reply to any messages I sent them. It probably would have been different if they would have just came out and said that they were on back order, instead of saying nothing. It really pisses me off when I try to find out what is going on with my order and get no reply.

I guess it happens to everyone once in a while.

Personally i had a good experience buying from him, and considering the number of diodes he sold in GB's many others did too. I'm not saying that this incident isn't a problem, but i'm quite sure its not an intentional scam either.

Just have to wait for his reply. For all we know the OP has 2 diodes and 3 lens now.

.....but we don't know.

Morning, yes i did mail him a second lens. but stupid me i did not send it with tracking.
I sent him a pm and awating his response. the money is not whats bothering me its more the feeling of getting ripped off.
I'm sure i sent him his order correctly but was only 80% so i gave him the doubt and sent him another then that one did not make it to him and i have no way to prove it without tracking.
So refunding him his money. its not worth the money to try to ship another.
I hate having to add tracking to every order. But its to the point where i have to.

I just wanted to provide some finality to this thread and let everyone know that Kiyoukan has provided me a refund for my outstanding lens.

All of my concerns regarding the transaction have been resolved.

If dealing with a long term Vet you could save the cost of tracking
on small orders...
But if you deal with members with only 4 posts to their name
since Aug 26 2010... then you need to protect yourself... or
not sell to them... or take the loss...

[EDIT]....
I see you took the loss.....:cryyy:

You could perhaps edit/update your Thread Title and 1st Post
to reflect your last Post...
