Hi everyone,
Just going to write this quick notice about a potentially dangerous member. It involves Xuen7.

After xuen7 bought my HeNe laser and he received it, he complained that it came all shattered. Honestly, i didnt believe much of this because im positive i wrapped it well enough to keep it safe.

Anyway, he filed a claim and wanted me to pay him back for the laser. I had absolutely no problem with doing so. Unfortunately, i had already used the funds for something important. So i offered to send him something laser worth the same amount of money. He was fine with doing so, so i offered him a few things and he ended up declining. After a few offers, i ended just doing the option that includes to give a full refund once my item is shipped back to me. Xuen7 got notice of this and told me that he would do it but tried to convince me that it was a piece of junk and there was no point in shipping it back. I told him that i would try to sell even the big resistor block (or PSU?) because that has to be worth something.

Since then he has not contacted me back and the claim ended up being dismissed. Im not totally sure if he was just trying to scam me into giving back his money and keeping a HeNe but it seemed like a very suspicious situation.

Im just warning everyone to be careful of this guy.

Here is the link to the sale thread of the HeNe:

Obvious scam is obvious. No matter what the situation is, if something you sell is defective according to the customer, always have them ship it back.

IIRC... I've privately heard from another member that a similar situation
had transpired with that same member...

He wanted a LaserBee from me for $100.00 shipped to Singapore..
So I sent him to Radiant's website...

Glad to hear that PayPal saw through his obvious scam and denied
his claim...

Thanks for alerting the Forum community...
Will be looking at him a bit closer...

Thanks for the warning! I would keep an eye out as this member may have multiple accounts and may try to do it again.

Did he pay tru Paypal? if so you have his name and adres, i would go to the police with this matter.
If thas not working put his full name email and home adres on the internet with this story;)

Warn him before you do this so he can decide for himself if he wants to be exposed on the internet.

Hey Dutch...

it has already been posted that it was paid by PayPal...

There is nothing you can do with the Police if you are not
in the same country...

The presumed scammer has already been de-pants on this
Public Forum...
Let's see what he has to say to defend himself...

I probably should have explained this a little more, I apologize.
What I meant to say was that the dead line for when Xuen7 was
supposed to add a tracking number had passed and the claim
was dropped because of his irresponsibility to communicate.

He obviously wanted to get his money back and keep my HeNe but he failed! :p

Even if the Claim Window was still open...
there is no way that PayPal would issue him a refund
without him sending the item back to you with tracking
and proof of delivery (at his cost)...

This guy has sent me probably a half-dozen PMs over two or three months. He's always interested in purchasing something, and always wants "EMS" shipping, nothing else. When I tell him the price of the shipping options from Canada he always complains, moans, and never goes through with a sale. I don't know if this was part of any sort of scam, but either way, he's a time waster.

IIRC, there is a similar "heads-up" thread on either PL or CPF.

I'm sure he was, otherwise I wouldn't have made the connection. Now that I think of it, I'm certain it was CPF not PL.

Everything I have found deals with not following through rather than filing claims without returning goods

Peace,
dave

**EDIT** -- It is over at CPF

Yah, you are right about that. And what sucked was that I was really nice to him. I offered him a bunch of things. I was extremely sorry that the HeNe "broke" and wanted to make it up to him however I could. And then to figure out that he tried to screw me over really made me angry. I hope people read this thread and not deal with him.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
