What did you pay $700 for? What kind of laser?
I don't know if I should feel bad for you or what. That is a lot of money. However
with only 2 posts it doesn't look like you spent too much time doing research and or asking questions. Maybe I'm wrong, and you just do a lot of lurking:)

If it is true that Dark has $700 of yours. I do hope you get it back. You will probably have to talk to your bank, at this point.

By the way, you do know that by posting tyler's phone number. Some LPF members will now be prank calling him;)

That's a lot of money for any potential build he could do! What could he possibly be building that might be worth $700?

Can you post the picture of the "parts" he sent?

Peace,

What I can't understand is why you are supporting A known criminal what could possibly be your reason for this, O' never mind I know now !!

Just to throw this out there. I ordered a Jayrob lens from his site a week or so ago and received the lens a few days later.
Also I am not sure how you ordered a Lava drive from the site as it has said SOLD OUT for a few weeks now. Perhaps you were still able to place the order regardless of the "SOLD OUT" button on the sale page.

How long has tyler had his own forum?? What the hell? I know it's been a while since I visited his website, but what the hell? It's kinda hilarious because I checked it out, and the posts said things like:

What the hell is going on, dark?

I've been trying to contact you on mail for ages now. Please respond.

It's funny how all the posts in there are from him, but no one ever responded to that thread.

*edit, by 'him' I'm reffering to tyler

I'm a costume designer, choreographer for a performance troupe.Recently we've started using stilts in our shows. My idea is to use lasers on the costumes to make them look more spectacular. Here is what I've made so far :

http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/7184/74341531207485297128785.jpg
http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/6315/74341531207535297128785.jpg

I've used 5mW green lasers on these costumes, and although it looks very good,I'm not satisfied...
I want to it be more brighter, more visible etc. What is the limit to the power that does not hurt the eyes. The costumes are used in night clubs full of people. While generally the beam stays above the people, sometimes it shines on them.

My question is how to avoid injuring the spectators eyes, how much power can i use on the costumes (I need info for green, red and blue wavelengths).

Can some lenses be used to widen the beam(to make it less focused, retaining the dot at the end of the beam) ? If so,where can such lenses be bought?
I have line lenses for the lasers,so that they aren't so focused. But I want to retain the dot.

Thanks in advance

wow thats pretty cool man! i'd totaly be willing to help you out with your needs, just e-mail me at DarkLasers@hotmail.com

Eye-safety:

Red - 200mW (as long as the dot does not remain still on a black object it will not burn, or harm)
Green - 50mW's (I have these for sale on my site right now, they will not burn at all, safe as long as no one takes a close up DIRECT shot to the eye)
Blu-ray - 100mW's (same as red, dont let it sit still, keep the laser moving, and all will be just fine, it's when the dot sits stationary you need to be concerned)

This is a very interesting project my friend, i wish i had thought of something like that, lol

Keep in touch, if you need any info on anything let me know, i also sell laser eyewear protection as well.

Your friend,

Tyler - Dark Lasers

Any thing for a buck is his motto I guess?
He is trying to tell that guy it's OK to use a 200mW red laser in his costume designs.
That it wont harm the onlookers eyes, as long as they keep moving?

I've been thinking. Seeing as Charlie designed his site, can he edit it?

Methinks some mischief could be created:eg:
