Pent up anger is a waste of time.. Wishing somebody was dead from what you see
on the outside is also pretty silly. If you dont like something about a person, tell
them to their face and be done with it..

Either that or get past the sexual tension, and get yourself some crackhead :thinking:

Guys, with threads like these, load the tags up with keywords such as "scammer, lasermaster, hackforums" etc. Then whenever someone searches on google, they get a flood of scammer links :)

I got the unit rebuilt with the same driver and it peaks @ 1.1W.

What changes did you make? Did you use a new diode? Also, is the laser going to that pal who sent it to ya?

I rewired it with some nice pyro wire and added a new diode. That is about it..

No need to wish people dead. My philosophy is that pay back is a bi*ch, and that they should stick around to suffer. We surround ourselves with the same kind of character we project. So all his friends will always be scum bags, drug addicts, and thieves. No honest person would associate with a dishonest person.

And I wouldnt expect that hacker forum to be full of moral individuals. There is all kinds of shady crap going on there. Tyler fits right in. They dont care if he is scamming people. Its common occurrence there. Plus, as been said, he is probably kicking back some funds to the forum.

Jordan you need to change the title to the thread. In order for Google to pick this thread it needs clear key words. I suggest " DAoO Lasermaster Scam / Another Dead Laser by DarkArmyofOne"

Just to make it clear the thread is not about the laser being dead. It is about what the laser is not. It was clearly a 1W laser sold as a 2.2W laser.;)

I will take a look at the title and see what I can do with it.:beer:

I know that, but its also dead. When people see his name and the words scam, and dead laser they will read everything you wrote.

Looks like the wires to the diode became twisted and one popped off with intermittent contact killing the diode. Now how they twisted I can not be 100% sure. There may have originally been an o-ring in the head that was not there once it got shipped to me. But I put an the o-ring from the middle section in the head and it was enough to make me think it was a tight fit until I tried to focus it and notice the bar/dot started spinning. Red flag. So I took it back apart and added a small amount of adhesive to keep the heatsink form spinning again but not enough that it would not be removable with a little force.

So my guess is that it had an o-ring and it was somewhat snug but when the focus got tight the sink started spinning causing the wires to twist. But again this is all speculation which is why I put in there it is not about the unit being dead.

The customer did not know exactly why it died but he did know that one of his wires had come loose and originally asked if I could just rewire it.

DONT BELIEVE THE CRAP THAT LASERMASTER SAYS.

BTW, you can pick up an excellent professionally built laser from DTR ;)

Maybe it's just my sleep deprived coffee addled brain, but the title of this thread does not read correctly to me.

What I mean is "DAoO LASERMASTER 2.2W Beast "NOT" SCAM" makes it sound like it's not a scam... even with the quotations over the "not".

Would work better as just "DAoO LASERMASTER 2.2W Beast SCAM" imho.

I re-read the last several comments of this thread because it seems to imply DAoO is in fact 'not' a scammer - which clearly is not the case. Thanks for the chuckle Infinitus :beer:
