I have yet to receive my kit yet from Jayrob although I have to say, he answered all my questions VERY promptly and went WELL beyond what was said he was to do.

Also, I had a few questions for Dr. Lava and he also answered promptly with great answers and customer service.

On the other hand, I have asked Pontiacg5 about his diodes and got no response. I thought he might have just thought I was an idiot so I ignored that, and went ahead and made a purchase from his site. I asked for a confirmation early this evening and now am waiting on a reply.

He's been extremely busy for the past few weeks making hosts. He's an honest guy so no need to worry.

Oh no that's not what I am meaning. I would expect him to fulfill my order and I don't expect to get scammed by him. I'm just hoping I don't get the cold shoulder from him because of our past conversations. :p

Lol I don't want a fresh start. I want to be known for saying what I want to say. Ha.

He JUST sent me a PM. He wanted me to read his return policy because of what I did with the IR diode. Lol :)

Btw, I did that with the IR because in all honesty, there was nothing else to do with it.

Once I get everything together I will post a few reviews and some great video tutorials hopefully.

Thanks every one that has helped me so far!!!

Every one I have purchased from has been pretty good.

Its a
SS18650 Host Copper with 445 glass from Jayrob
Microboost Dr.Lava
XJ-A140 Pontiacg5
Resistor from Laserbee

Host 3 weeks out.... Total Bummer
Driver In mail he says
Diode In mail on Monday
Resistor sent on the 13th he said although it still hasn't came so... I need it for my test load!!!!

Jayrob: This is gonna be what I am waiting on for what seems like forever...
Dr.Lava: should be here soon!!
Diode: Shouldn't take long to get here
Resistor: Heaven knows... Maybe customs took it. I bet they thought it was part of a detonator for Al-Qaeda's bomb for the Space Needle.
/Sarcasm

So far I got nothing but Hoping to get something soon lol

Why don't we make a Customer Service thread for all the suppliers!

I have a feeling the host is gonna be the killer.

Wow "Dont Laze Me Bro" Game me a negative rep that simply says "Retard..." from this thread.

What the hell is up with people and the rep system. That doesn't make any sense.

Like Kenom said, "Since it is in Kit format, you assume responsibility for it's assembly and subsequent death because of any design flaws or errors on the users end."

Well, I have dealt with other part and kit suppliers in the past and both offer post-sales support and warranty, they don't just tell say, "sorry for your loss. have a good day." Another member here used Digi-key as an example of a parts supplier citing that they wouldn't give me any support if a part I bought from them failed after I used it. This turns out to be false - I contacted Digi-key and they said that they have a process for filing a warranty claim for used parts. The CSR told me generally they will replace it for free or for a small re-stocking charge.

A kit manufacturer I have dealt with in the past (Paia) has a very good post-sales policy of helping people with their kits. I haven't had any problems, but i have read posts from people who couldn't get their product to work, or burned out components accidentally, and paia will offer to replace the parts free or cheaply and also take the kit back and fix it for a nominal fee.

I wasn't expecting jayrob and flamin to give me a free part (it would have been amazingly nice of them if they did). But i was expecting something in between that and "sorry for your loss, have a nice day". This is the point of my post (not that expected them to just give me a replacement, although in the Flamin case, he agreed the problem was the LD).

An offer to sell me a replacement at a discount would have been sufficient for me to walk away a happy customer. Most other companies build some kind of warranty loss into their profit models and I expect this of any retailer (and I have offered it myself when I was a retailer).

Your problem is you never tell the whole story then you expect people to believe you.
So heres what I have to say about this last statment of yours.
When you contacted Digi-Key and asked if you could return there parts that failed in your service did you bother telling them that you were running them at 200%+ of the recemended drive current

come on now tell the truth did you realy tell them that ???

did you tell any of the other suppliers that also or did they think you were observing the recamended max current levels for the devices you want to return ???

Well...
