Hello folks.
I recently purchased a 561nm PGL-III-C from tomfire1735, and it arrived today.

Only problem is that it isn't a 561nm laser. Instead, he sent me a horrendously mode-hopping 589.

Fortunately, I agreed to not pay for the laser until it arrived, so I have some leverage in this case.

He is banned now.

Yikes! It is indeed a good thing you agreed not to pay for it until you've received it. Maybe send it to one of the members who knows a few things about DPSS so they can try to fix it? :)

Even before he got banned he seemed really fishy. All these claims without any proof. Sound familiar? :p

At least now we have concrete proof that Isaac_Clarke/Tomfire1735 was full of shite.

Even if the mode-hopping is fixed, it'll still be a 589nm laser, no changing that.

Hey Sta,
You have now seen first hand what it like to buy from someone who is reputable and someone who is not, especially when it come to more exotic wavelengths!

Tom is claiming that my package was mixed up with someone else's, he says I can keep the laser. At this point I will not pay him until I am holding a 561nm laser in my hands.

If this other person exists, we can possibly make a package exchange. By the way, the mode-hopping seems to have settled down, interestingly.

I hope you get it figured out but I don't believe him for a second... I don't think he ever had a 561nm laser.

Did he send you pictures of it before hand?

He sent me one but it looked somewhat suspect (as if hue alteration had been used.)

My question is why would he send a laser in the first place if he was going to scam you. He would barely make any money or even none at all.

That's a very important point, and it is exactly why I asked him to tell me the e-mail address of the person to whom he claims to have accidentally sent my laser.
