Hiya, you all maybe seen my thread here:
http://laserpointerforums.com/f63/billg519-nicest-guy-earth-45633.html

Well, recently there was a situation where I needed some adapters which contained cylindrical lenses for my high power IR projects, and I PMd Bill
for those since there was one in his previos package already.

In short, he said something like: Yeah I sent you some adapters and a TO3 LD...

I was like, OK , thanks a bunch!
Well yesterday, I talked to my mum and she said that Bills package arrived... weighting about 1.5 KG !
I was like WTF, and I PMd Bill again saying: Unless you packaged adapters in 1.47 kg of bubblewrap, I am obviously going to have another unpacking day :D
What on earth did you put in there?! (<- short version)

His answer was:
It sure took a while for that to get there. Must be the excess weight and larger than normal box. I put in adapters, the TO-3 weak LD's, some lithium
batteries in various sizes, a whole bunch of resistors, a cylinder lens, switches, PC board, some sleds (all LDs still in), various electronic components, and some laser diodes, including a very special one that got tested on my bench
prior to shipping. I needed to know that this diode was still in good working order and still capable of damaging power. I never ran it flat out, but did it ever do damage to a CD case. Melt and vaporize ... Optics to go with the special diode
are included. Also there is some resistance wire for making low value power resistors for current sense resistors, etc. I think that you'll find the contents interesting and useful (There's a lot more than I've mentioned here ...
can't remember it all.)

Jeez I was starting to have them nerves jumping out of my nose or something, I needed to endure a whole day in school and a trip back home (2 hour train ride... damn)...

Well anyway, I asked around more of the contents...
His reply:
Hi,

I think a 25W 808nm minibar qualifies as a special diode ... It fried the crap out of a CD case and I was only giving it 10A. A rod lens goes against
the diode, cylinder lens then focuses to a burning point. I think that I put in 3 rod lenses and one cylinder lens somewhere in the packing. It will be messy, many components are loose in the box. I think that there are 18650's, 14500's,
and 10440's mixed in there somewhere.
There should be a plastic box with some LDs in it. There might also be a red c-mount somewhere in there but I can't really remember ...

25W diode?!?!

To spare you any further reading (I already know you took a peak at photos down there), I am just gonna post a wall of pictures here:

I am still having hard time believeing that such luck struck me...
Man... what a great gift from Bill....
You could almost open Store....:D

It wasn't Luck... it was Bill's overwhelming Generosity...

BTW... you may want to re-size your photos..
they are 3 times the width of my computer screen...
and that makes reading your text just as wide...

What Jerry said--I'd need a monitor the size of a 'wall' to see and read it all---LOL-.............................IMHO===---Bill is clearly the best kind of LPF member we can have!!!.........:)---HZ

Hell yeah Jerry, You are right, it IS Bills generosity!

BTW yeah, I'm sorry dudes, I am currently on 22" 1680.1050 res monitor, and seems fine for me,
But anyway you see, I like to keep the best of quality on the photos, to show everything what can be shown. You gotta admit that 25W diode bar photos turned out great! :D

If you want I will resize them all, however that means I will need to re-upload all of them (it letteraly took me half a day for this, very slow upload on my net at home).

Wow... I can't afford a 22" Monitor....

I haven't read all your text or looked at all your photos simply
because it is to bothersome to keep scanning 3 pages right and
3 pages left for each line of text and photos..

When I see posts this large I normally won't look at or read them..

Just my

Neither can I, I just had luck :D
Although it costs as one delux Laserbee. I'm sorry I will see what can I do with those photos directly on the photobucket, so I do not have to upload them

Anyway, what that "Just my two cents" mean? "Just my opinion?"

Hell yeah, he is such a nice person! I mean, in one PM after the manifesting of box contents, he said: Sorry no gas lasers in there (he bought himself some 50 mW argon ion and some HeNes),

When I said in my PM : Nice, some 3.0V cr2 batts, do you know of any cheap charger from DX?
He replyied: " I though I put a charger in there, sorry "

He got a +rep from dave with comment: Excellent trading partner
I am guessing he put a couple of suprises for Dave also :D Bill, what did you guys trade?

BTW, photos should be fixed now I think. Jerry how is that on your monitor? I think it is like, 1064x600 something ... I can make it smaller if it is a still pain in the a$$ !

EDIT: Hmm curious.. the images are all smaller but the width of page still remains... should I try to 'slice up' the text with enter?
EDIT2: I seem tu be unable to fix the page width anymore... sorry Jerry :( and the rest of you guys who must scroll to the side, more than up-down

Yep, Bill is always helpful, and has given me a hand with several things including an LPM from his TEC thread :)

Although I am curious as too why he has sent you SO much stuff, it is quite a ridiculous amount of items.
