Hey all, so... I had this wireless power thing sitting around in a box under my bed for a bit, and decided to attempt something with it;

A ZVS wireless power transmitter, current limited!

A ZVS driver is a current fed oscillator; meaning that it acts very similar to how laser diodes act. It'll take as much current as it can from a source.

Thinking this through, I decided to use one of my own proprietary driver designs. A buck boost laser diode driver, capable of accepting either one OR two li-ion cells.

Pics!

You can see the driver board on there :3

The driver is set to 430 mA. It's boosting to 5 volts, from a single li-ion cell. It draws about 730 mA total from the cell.

In total the driver is drawing about 2.15 watts total from the battery. :)

Pretty neat huh!?

That's going to need a big host :thinking:

Onono, the entire thing isn't the driver silly!

The driver itself measures about 12.7 mm by 9.7 mm.

The rest of the bulk in the pictures is the ZVS itself. ;P
