Just put windows 10 on a intel NUC board and I works great .

I do like the custom splash screen you can do with the BIOS on intel boards .

I did this on the thin ITX I had too a while back

Didn't explain it well in my original post : P

Are you talking about the Windows 10 splash screen, or the bios splash screen? I was able to change the splash screen on Windows 7 previously. It was quite the pain as, for some reason, the drive had to be configured to GPT instead of the standard MBR. It was quite cool, although not every mobo supports GPT configurations.

I was on about the BIOS splash screen on start-up before booting begins , Never knew you could change windows splash screen

Edit - This was the BIOS splash image I did on my thin ITX I had a while back .

Anyone experiencing start menu lag? On my normal everyday pc the start menu lags ever time I click on it. It runs on decent hardware (an i5 4th gen). I upgraded this pc from win 8. The start menu does not lag on my other laptop (4th gen Celeron) which I did a fresh win 10 install on.

Wow thats one old processor. Ive also noticed that win 8/10 uses less ram and resources. Does win 7 or win 10 run smoother on your hardware?

Thanks , Do ASUS do a tool kit for editing the BIOS ?

Intel are ending the support for their ITK this year : /

This my one for my NUC that I did a few days ago .

Yep, I've had it for several years, and it still runs very well. It started getting very sluggish, and I almost got a new one. I decided to upgrade to a solid state hybrid drive, figuring I would just use it for the new PC if it didn't help. It sped it right up after just a few uses of learning my most used applications. It's actually very fast now for a 5+ year old PC. All I've done is upgraded to the SSHD and replaced the 1GB stick with 2GB to make it 4GB total RAM. I don't use it terribly often anyways. Mainly just for Microsoft Word and Excel and to datalog with my Laserbee.

Windows 10 definitely runs smoother. I have not experienced any lag whatsoever with the new OS. It also eliminated the need to disable driver signature enforcement every time I reboot my computer.

Haven't experienced any lag at all. Been using it for roughly a month now. Hell, I think I haven't even installed a single driver except for the graphics driver. Maybe I should get around doing that sometime.

I've had zero issues across all four of my W10 PC's. The only one I did have problems with I ended up doing a clean install on, and since then it's been smooth sailing.

Only had it hand up with some videos, with windows media player no longer supporting some formats. Need to install vlc anway.
