If you played with one you'd understand... it's easily the most technologically advanced phone on the market... it has a multitouch display, so you can zoom out of pictures by "pinching" them, you can rotate them by grabbing them with two fingers and swiveling, etc.. it has an accelerometer that gives it all the same motion sensing as a wiimote, it automatically changes the display to landscape mode if you tilt it on its side.. it has a proximity detector to detect if your face is near it and it disables the touchscreen... it's about 50-100 times more powerful than the first computer I owned, it has a 600mhz processor with 128mb ram and a 4/8/16gb flash drive and is actually running a full version of OSX... (your windows mobile based phone, can it run windows xp?).. oh and it has a sexy high resolution screen that's very usable for watching movies.

Technology aside, it's really neat to play with.. the interface really is a joy to use, and the whole thing has a sexy polished look.

PS: I'm not an apple fanboy and I don't own an iPhone... I can just understand why people buy them, they're cool.

ive played with the iphone at the AT&T store, yeah its smooth, but it's all software based, no special hardware realy. its just hte multitouch and motion sensors that my phone doesnt have, it has a real keyboard that when you slide it the screen changes orentation.
The iPhone doesnt run a full version of OSX, it runs a mobile version. you can clearly tell it isnt the really OSX, its like saying my phone runs a full version of windows, well it is windows, but its windows mobile. they both run .exes and use the same formats, but its a windows mobile version, slightly different.
The 600mhz processor is needed so it can support the screen resolution and software, a lot of the CPU power is being ate up just by the operating system itself.

I like my phone cuz it has a better camera, gps, real keyboard, more 3rd party apps, expandable memory, lots more features..

Yeah, the iPhone is neat but it really isn't justifiably neat. If i wanted to look at pictures and watch movies, I'd watch them at home! While I'm out, I'm always too busy having fun with friends or working to do anything else. :\

I've got a blackberry curve. It can do just about anything most of the smart phones can do, but I don't use most of that. I mostly only use the internet, email, and texting. I got it for the keyboard and internet. The emails are handy though, sometimes annoying.

I'm pretty sure there is. I haven't looked for any of the games yet though.

I have a 20 dollar "go-phone" with my SIM card in it at the moment. My swim coach pushed me into the pool with my old phone, so I'm stuck with this one for about a month before I get my free upgrade!
