Re: Unbreakable LCD

Glad he didn't miss & hit the PCB! :san:
Fun video. Plus I haven't seen a prototype flexible display as good as this one before. Not that I've really been keeping a close watch on new display tech.

Re: Unbreakable LCD

Seems like a sturdy display for sure, but never ever market anything as 'unbreakable' - somehow people always find a way.

I remember someone having one of those 'unbreakable' lexan mugs in elementry school.. which took about 3 solid bangs on a desk edge to break ;)

@ Benm - Bet you felt like a jerk after you broke it ;)

Yeah, technology is pretty awesome but... well, this display is still breakable, just in a different way.

It's OLED!

Exactly. These burn up really quick, thats the major downfall. You can use these to make foldable laptops, video screens on back packs, ect. They also use it for stealth. Ever see the 007 movie were his car disappeared on the snowy backdrop? They can contour it around vehicles, and use cameras to project the backdrop to the front of the vehicle. Might work with people too.

That would be so epic, I've always wanted an invisible coat :D

I can't wait to get mine so I can just smash it with a hammer, which would be my everyday use for it!!

Not really.. he claimed it was unbreakable, and i proved otherwise.

With stuff claimed to be unbreakable, sometimes i feel like putting in some effort - up to running stuff over with my car, several times ;)

LOL !!!

This remember me one of my schoolmates, that had one of these "unbreakable" wristwatches (big ones with tempered front glass), and that was throwing and banging it anywhere all the times, just for demonstrate to all the others that he had something good ..... until, in the lab, he had the bad idea to use a spring puncher on the glass, for demonstrate that it was unbreakable ..... LOL ..... you know spring punchers ? ..... those tools for mark the start of a hole on metal ? ..... they usually have widia tips .....

Click - PAF ..... chips of tempered glass anywhere ..... you had to see his face, that time
