Thought I would share my "junk coil" I threw together last night with parts from my junk bin.

Its a single IRFP260 in an Armstrong oscillator configuration.

I haven't tried tuning yet. Just finished soldering it up and turned the power on expecting flying silicon but it started first light!!

It does get hot fast but I was expiating that considering I didn't have the exact components I needed. I couldn't find the 460's I thought I had so I used a 260 in its place.

Ah man this thread has been torture over the last couple weeks while waiting for my kit to ship. The good news is the first tiny Tesla kits will ship tomorrow but the bad news is I was in the last round of backers so probably another month for mine.
