So I have some problems with Return to Castle Wolfenstein: it won't start, it's just open a fullscreen page that is totally black and then I completely get freeze. The only thing I can do is pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
The good thing is that I know what the problem is (a friend of mine told me): Are just some settings that don't let the game starts and they remain in my pc even if I uninstall the game. He told me that I have to delete them (yes he also had the same problem but he is a bit busy this days so I don't want to disturb him for asking how actually to solve it) but I really don't know where to find them. So if anyone own the game please help me find those...
Thanks in advance!:)
P.S.: it's about the single player version.

Not sure where settings for that would be located, but if you mean registry keys, you can easily do that,

Hit Start menu, type "regedit" and open the corresponding app.

Use Find to delete all entries containing "wolfenstein" in their name or value. Then reinstall the game.

HOWEVER, my opinion is that it's not an old settings problem causing your game to lock up at startup. It's an old game and I assume you have newer PC than what the game was meant for.

Go to where your game is installed and find the executable your are running. Right click, Properties, tab Compatibility,

Mark Compatibility mode with Windows XP SP3, Run as Admin, Disable Desktop Composition. Try then.

Also, make sure to install all software required by the game. It can usually be found in "redist" folders either on installation media or within the installed game's folders. Some old stuff required might not ship with new drivers and newer versions of software, so even if you have new version of DirectX, it may not have specific parts required by that game.

If you cannot find any redist folders, google the required software.
