Me too, forgot about those. I got good a pitching quarters before school, so I always had a pile to throw into the machines.

My home away from home (a bar) had many arcade games, pinball and pool. I spent a lot of time there, as soon as I would walk in the door they would pour me a beer and didn't even have to ask what I wanted. Spent a lot of quarters in that place.
It was the bowling alley before that. I still like the older arcade games and pinball.

I still play pinball, but its getting harder. The new machines dont allow "finesse" and suck the ball down the pipe before you even get started. They are made just to suck quarters, excuse me, dollars. Its BS. I used to be able to play for hours on a few dollars.

Ya so did I, the new ones suck. Try to give them a little "finesse" and they tilt. Had my favorite pinball games.
Meteor
Addams Family
F-14 tomcat
Kiss
Twilight Zone
Black Knight
Playboy
Pin Bot
Tales from the Crypt
Star Wars
Indiana Jones
Eight Ball

I used to own a bar in the late 80's and played for free. I want to get a pinball machine for my basement, just haven't found the right one for the right price.

Finally. I thought I was the only one. I always loved grim. Freeze, special, freeze, special and one or two shots with the machine guns and you are toast. Then run like hell till you get your specials back.:D

My favorites were..

Addams Family of course. You could play all day on a $1
Fun House
High Speed
Space Shuttle
Super Mario Bros

There were a few others too, I just cant remember/find their names. One was the first game to score a billion, the other had fans on the top of the score box, and spinning disks on the table.

@DTR My bro and I would laugh for hours. Awesome game.

Some were better than others, I forgot about funhouse. In college I had high score on meteor, when you got to 1 billion it went back to zero and a bunch of free games.
I could usually play all afternoon on a quarter. I miss the old games.

AWESOME game, been playing it for the last 3 months, so much fun to smash shit up. NFS: Hot Pursuit was made by the same people and was a disappointment or me.

Monster Rancher 2 (ps1)
Ratchet and Clank (ps2)
Final Fantasy 11 (pc online)

Max Payne is also worth to mention, especially the baby-blood-trail-tracking!

nowadays i think split second is the best race game and unreal tournament 2004 the best action game.

why haven't i read the word 'tetris'
Agreed, I'll have to add that one to my list (although I don't quite remember what platform I played it on...). Looks like TJ beat me to it - speaking of which, I'll have to add Tempest (thx, Giorge!) to my list too
