Occasionally (far too often imo) I hit the 'wrong ' key(s) and my screen kinda locks up- sometimes it fixes itself when i next hit space or Alt.
In the pic below you can see what always pops up in that corner- no matter what I do I cannot get control back- left click the mouse--no responce, I can move the cursor but little else- I cannot exit the window ( usually some place I am typing stuff into ) I CAN minimize it but thats about all- so far my only way out is task manger and a forced shut-down- I try to now type all into note pad to keep from losing stuff( no way to highlight and copy once its frozen) but I often forget- I cant even scroll thru what I and type so I can manually copy my work.

I am not sure what keys or combination is putting me in this hell.

When I minimize the page I can still see that box but its ghosted- bring the page back up and its still there-

ANYBODY HAVE A FIX FOR ME-- ??
TIA---Len

You are pushing alt+space at the same time to bring up the window context menu.

Click anywhere off of the menu that pops up to close it, or push ALT to close it.

You should also upgrade your browser. The acronym for it matches my pseudonym, but it's by far the worst one you could be using.

Go with Chrome or FireFox.

If you're around sunday afternoon, I can take a look at it for you remotely. Not really sure what the problem is either though. Seems very odd.

If in doubt, hit the escape key. That particular menu is triggered by hitting Alt-Space, or if you click on that area of the titlebar with the mouse (even if no icon is there).

For other random crap, you might try turning off all those "helpful" accessibility settings Windows like "Sticky Keys". Sometimes they trigger when you, for example, hold a key down for a while or hit a key rapidly.

Those accessibility tools did save my installation one time when some virtual machine software somehow killed my system's keyboard driver--which also affected safe mode! I had to use a mouse-based keyboard at the startup screen to logon and fix the driver.
