I was reading somewhere that was one of their primary objectives.

I was watching that earlier, it was streaming live on some site.
It looks cool, but I need to see more specifications on it and some pricing before I say "I WANT ONE."
I am a sucker for any new Apple product.

This is just an iPod touch on speed. I was expecting so much more :/

I think we're used to apple being so awesome we kinda overestimated this time. They didn't even put any effort in though, they just sort of looked at the iPod touch and went "let's make this bigger and put a big processor in"

I will be very surprised if this takes off. Tablet PCs have been around for a long time but they have a rather small market.

release price of only $499 for the basic model, that is so hot. Was expecting it too cost a lot more.

It may be lacking some software features but it will almost certainly be hacked with 3rd part apps etc. I only really wanted this for photoshop

but for that price it's very tempting, who knows maybe some day someone will get OSX running on it.

Anyone can admit, that thing is very powerful, very intuitive, and very good looking. 10 hours of battery life matches any netbook! Go Apple!

I was going to get one until I figured out it of course doesn't have Flash, no camera, and if you want a USB port you have to get a big ugly adapter. This thing would be the gadget of 2010 if it had all those. It would look natural with a front and back camera. It looks like it's made for video chats. I am not happy with Apple. Thanks for the bigger 3g capable Ipod touch Apple.

Exactly, it's an oversized iphone with even less features. No flash, no peripheral connectors, no multitasking, no camera, and limited storage space.

The display is wasted, there's not enough storage and barely enough processing power for HD video - plus the fact that you'd have to hold it the entire time while watching it.

If it wasn't made by Apple and had the exact same specifications, nobody would even give it a second thought.

When has apple ever given you all the good stuff at once. They need something to add to the product next year so everyone will buy it

As far as flash goes, Steve jobs does not like it, and thats why we don't get flash. If apple has it's way they will just wait until HTML 5 replaces it, flash kinda sucks anyway.

I love apple, but I'm disappointed with the ipad.
I have a dell mini 9 hackintosh and I'm very happy with it. I was hopping they would bring me something similar in power and capability, but I guess not

I was actually expecting it to cost somewhat less. I was watching an Apple video and theyr were raving about how the price was super low and they were gonna start out on a low price instead of starting out high and then slowly dropping the price. Of course they will drop the price soon anyway.

This Ipad looks like a waste of money. Just buy a normal tablet PC that will allow you to do anything...NO LIMITS

Everyone does realize that this thing only has about 300 more MHz of processing power than an Ipod touch!! The only big difference is the screen size. LOL

The Apple A4 processor is only a 1Ghz chip!!
