Need a little help with flyback circuit

I have a "working" flyback driver and I can get up to 2 inch sparks using a laptop charger that gives 16V @ 4.5A, the problem is that the laptop charger that I'm using for power keep dying:(. The first died and only gave 7.4V after and the second one showed no voltage after it died.

Here is a link to a simulation of the circuit I'm using. It's a basic NE555 driver. (LINK) The 1nH inductor in the simulation is one of the yokes from a TV.

I'm thinking of just adding a boatload of capacitors at the end of the charger to filter any voltage spiks, and maybe adding a diode too. Although it might also be the hi "pulsed" current draw that's killing them?

I don't know, so here I am asking for advice:D. How do I fix this? Because I don't want to have to keep replacing the power supply every 10 minutes :tired:

They're dying because you're overloading them. 4A is not nearly enough. Use a power supply that can easily handle the current of your circuit.

OK, thanks.
After I get back from SELEM I will try a better power supply like you say.

Also switching power supplies dont work well with a flyback transformer. I normally power it on batteries (11.1v lipos) or a 12v SLAB. If you want it to be mains powered then use a non switching power supply (the big brick ones with a big transformer).
