I'm not sure how they make them now...
The old modded controllers don't work on call of duty 5, or modern warfare 2.
So I was thinking maybe the old ones simply send a electrical pulse to fire the weapon.
Maybe with the new games they detect the change in resistance (since the trigger is just a pot) to tell if it's a legit trigger pull.
Assuming this was correct....
I thought of a funny little mod. I ended up failing in the end when the pot's contacts on the controllers pcb board got torn but it was still a cool little idea.
You can desolder the right trigger's pot, and lay it flat on the PCB.
Then you remove the weights from the vibrating motor, and turn the motor around so that it's facing the pot.
You can then add arms to the pot, and to the motor.
So when the motor is turned on, the arm swing around with each revolution and hit the pot, thus "pulling the trigger"
You can add arms on each side of the pot, one arm catches the motor and pulls the trigger, the other arm is attached to a rubber band which pulls the pot back to it's starting position.
Then you could just make a contact point under the actual trigger, so when you pull the right trigger, it's turns on the motor and begins to fire.
I know nothing of electrical engineering so this is the only solution i can find to a workign quick fire mod for modern warfare 2.
