do anyone own those micro RC helicopters? I have one and although I need to control it it's still a lot of fun he he
I could have never imagined a small helicopter could be that stable in the air, mine can stay without moving like if it was a dragonfly :O

What RC heli do you own? Is it from DX? I've always wanted a "Mosquito" (cheap and cool) but I just never took the plunge, I'm too demanding with RC stuff and to get what I want I'd have to spend lots and lots of money (my paradox). I'm also considering getting one of those 10 dollar RC cars from DX ... that is IF I don't build my own, which I have been considering with a friend, but we don't have access to PCB making since we left high school

That is awesome! Looks like they have managed to build an actually stable helicopter.. However, I doubt battery time is very long on that thing.
I have a micro helicopter.. they are not very easy to navigate around as they change behaviour along with battery level, and forward/backward flying is done in a special way.. right is right+forward, left is left+backward. This means that to fly forwards, you have to slowly move forwards to the right, then quickly turn the helicopter left without letting it move too much backwards. Repeat, repeat, repeat.. it's slow, but it works OK.
It still is a really great toy though, and it feels very rewarding when you master flying it.

That platform must use a self-balancer with an inertial and a gyroscope unit (the electronic ones), cause it's too stable, in the video, for be a free-fly one.
I tried to pilot one of those 4 rotors "toy-style" old flyers, and it was almost a nightmare, to keep them balanced, without a self-stabilizer (and i heard that also in these toys, actually, they put gyros, at least in the better ones).
I always wanted to build a well working one, too, but with discrete components, the needed electronics become too heavy (tried with a friend, years ago ..... the only time we got to make it fly, we had to use so big motors that the batteries lasted less than 5 minutes, with all that heavy load, batteries, motors, controls, servos, microcam, transmitter ..... and no gyro)
Probably, with the actual microminiature movement and gyro sensors, like the ones used in PSP and WII controller, and SMD components, may be possible to build all the electronics in 1/10 or less than at these times, gyro included

Niko, mine is not from DX but is neither the mosquito one, I heard those are crap compared to the standart ones. I have one like this one:

Keep in mind that it's really difficult to control them at first, specially because of the batterie droping as jaseth just said, but I can ensure you that when you got the control of them it's really easy and nice to fly them, I can make a video if you want showing my abilities with it hehe

I, myself, have a Walkera Dragonfly #4. Everyone told me it was a good beginner heli and cheap at only $85

More than the heli, need the same hours of training in pilot, i guess, LOL !
BTW, how much of them was destroyed, before the video can be made ?
P.S: none tried to build and pilot a 2-rotors model one, like the Chinook ? :eg:

Well i'm not a "hell A expect" and this was a just a vid, that came out years ago.
but it is nice to view, and i'll bet there is a good cost in flying one.
Just makes for a good show.
I myself would like the engine used for the helli, as the back/foward responce time is nice, given a well stable helli. i thank with the quick response, a user that loves flying a copter, would have this doing, with little then some roter replament.
(my 2 cents)

Oh my god, that second video amazed me. what the hell he is turning the angle of the spins so fast, is this done manually? I was gonna post a video about my mini RC but after seeing that one mine would seem like shit so I'm better leaving it haha
