LOL, yes I'm serious, I recently have been playing around with a some copper wire, a zinc plated nail, and you guessed it, a citrus fruit. ;D
I'm using Mikan, which in Louisiana is referred to as a "Satsuma". My five trees have so much fruit on them that the limbs have broke.
So I decided to see what all I could do with them.
After I put the zinc plated nail, and copper in the satsuma, I got out my multimeter, it registered 2.2volt @ .25 amps, then it dropped to a sustained output of 1.8 @ .18 amps. That's not bad for a fruit!
So it got me wondering, what if I plugged in ten or so satsumas into a 12volt regulator, or even a 5volt for charging my ipod? ;D
Has anyone ever tried to power a laser, or anything else with a citrus fruit?
