Question How safe is Yauba search engine?

Google and Yahoo have been monitoring and recording our search habits for years, so I'm a bit wary of any new search engine that claim to not just respect, but actually protect our privacy. Is anyone familiar with yauba?

http://www.yauba.com/

Here is what they have to say about privacy:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our Commitment to Our Users:
* We offer our users the highest privacy protection of any major search engine in the world. We are the only major search engine company that offers users the option of an anonymous browsing mode, which when used properly, allows users to both search and browse third party websites safely and anonymously, without passing on any private, personally identifiable information.
* We actively support and endorse the work of leading Internet privacy advocacy organisations. We are the only Internet search focused company globally (and the first media company based in India) to be approved as an official signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, the leading non governmental initiative sponsored by the United Nations which promotes social responsibility standards for corporations around the world.
* We firmly believe we have an important moral obligation to safeguard the privacy and security of our users. As a result, we do not request any personal information from you; we do not use any cookies whatsoever; and we delete all of your personally identifiable information from our servers on a daily basis. While we unfortunately cannot and do not control the privacy policies of external sites or third party advertisers on Yauba, we encourage you to read through their privacy policies very carefully, and (should you feel uncomfortable with their specific practices) to monitor your cookies or configure your browser to block all third-party cookies in addition to visiting those sites through Yauba's anonymiser. In other words, if you click directly on a link to a third party site or to an advertisement while NOT using Yauba's anonymising filter, third parties will be able to access your personal information (including IP addresses, browser type) and will be able to place cookies on your computer. To find out more about cookies and how to control or delete third party cookies, please visit AboutCookies.org.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So... what do you think? Is this really a "safe" place to search for all the, um, "interesting stuff" you want to find but are afraid to look for?

TOR is .. The Onion Router, a proxy service that masks your IP.

but it's not a simple proxy. It's a gadget that goes into your browser and together with a tool that you run together with it, it jumps you through different proxies every minute. Proxies used by TOR are not servers, just users like you. You can set TOR to allow other users to use your computer as proxy or not.

It has prooved to be the most reliable solution for internet anonimity.

Read here, it's very interesting.

Tor (anonymity network) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
True but anonymity with a price, your internet will come to a crawl. If you set yourself as proxy the speeds are faster but you open your computer up for attack. By becoming a proxy your computer is connectable by anyone on the TOR network. They may have solved these security problems but I could never get past the speed issue. It was like going back to dial-up, never again.

By defualt it's not configured to use your computer asproxy, and about the speed, well, everyrequest u make jumps through many countrys soI understand it's slow. Anyway I've never used it for any purpose than testing so I dont know until what point the speed is a real problem.

Yours,
Albert
