Update:
Got my Enclosure plastics
From my design:
To the real thing:
Will need them recessed for the 20mm dowels to sit in so i can put the roof over the PCB and put the coil on-top
The fan is a 6" Dayton pushing out 240CFM!

Im not sure, there's 2 on board LED's for power and bus voltage and each of them i changed to a high power green and blue. So with that and the clear perspex case i wonder how much it will light it up.
Darn it Fiddy, you're seriously making me consider drppping $1K on the Minibrute kit, them ~1m arcs are seriously tempting, but of course I'd want all the bells and whistles with the advanced modulator and Xenosonic one to play music .. arrgrhhhh

Speak of the devil i just built the advanced and xenosonic modulator, the xenosonic modulator is playing up tho, the kit was really badly delivered etc, no instruction and missing parts

i do think it was there fault, some of the parts provided where out of tolerance and just the wrong value which was weird, they are usually top notch with that stuff.
That's not bad at all! you've gotta bring a bit of your own building supplies to built that kit don't ya? would be good if someone you know has a laser cutter......

Not sure, I am a bit intrigued as to why the Microbrute kit says you don't need a variac, possibly implying you do for this one. However reading the addendum document for it, they state that it tends to be more reliable running at a slightly lower voltage. I dunno, will have to ask I suppose
As for a laser cutter, I am looking into purchasing one, however with the budget I have, and with how much I think shipping will be, not sure it'll be a viable option
How are the mob you got your acrylic work done through? There is a local place here with a CNC machine I could ask also, who knows. Dunno if i'm ready to drop $1K on a tesla coil, although it'd be amazing .. hmmmmmmmm

Interesting, i have a variac but its a POS only good for 500VA :S
They have been amazing, bit expensive but pretty good, the stuff in their show room is unreal what they can make.

2 foot is a pretty big tesla coil, think I'll stick bleed resistors on the caps as the first thing I do if I get it, they look nasty!
Did you get your coil fully tuned? Whats the max sparks you've achieved?

Yeah i hit resonance pretty well with a adjustment of the primary coil.
17" was my longest recorded arc length the advanced modulator should help it with the one-shot and burst modes

Do you mind sharing the price or company name of the people doing your acrylic work? If I did go ahead with the miniBrute, would definitely get a nice acrylic enclosure going for it. However, it is a _lot_ of money
But having something that can throw 1m lightning like sparks, which is fully controllable is quite awesome sounding. I've always been fascinated by the weather, it's fun using PCB's like old motherboards and imagining they're little cities, and putting them there a source of HV but ultra low current (like a tesla coil), and seeing where they strike

they claim up to 20+" if your a pro coiler.Yeah no problem, they mobs called Trident Plastic Engineering.
